Applying for: medicine/ Dent

GWS Applicant: No
Indigenous Applicant: no
SEAS - yes

I would like to know my chances please.
Medicine: expect interviews at Monash, JMP, Adel, UQ/UWA/Curtin if you apply, WSU probably yes but I'll say borderline, UNSW no due to ATAR but yes if you have EAS boost. JCU depends on written application. Good luck :)

Interviews: UNSW yes, JMP yes, UQ yes, WSU yes, also yes to the other unis if you apply. You could get a Griffith offer at USC with a 99.5+ if you're lucky but it needs to be 99.7+ for the other campuses :)

You should definitely get interviews at both of those, assuming WSU sticks to their formula! Good luck and well done :)

Other: Do LOTE, Maths and Chem so probably some bonus points for UQ.
Specific Question: How likely is it for me to get an interview from Monash based on UCAT alone? Because the first round is not long after my VCE exams so wasn't sure if I needed to start preparing already. Thanks

As a rural applicant you should be in with a shot at WSU and JMP (you will get interviews at both unless something changes drastically this year!), though whether you meet the WSU GPA hurdle depends on your exact GPA and how long you've been studying. Good luck :)
Thank you! :) I meet the listed GPA cut-off on the CSU website for a completed degree (which I have), but I don't actually meet the WSU cut-off (although I don't think they list a cut-off specifically for rural students like the CSU website). So we will just wait and see!

Specific Question: What ATAR would be necessary to have a high chance of getting in for JMP or WSU?
This is pretty hard to answer without an accurate ATAR, but your chances for JMP and WSU won't change at all with an ATAR change because ATAR is a hurdle only.
Expect interviews at UAdel (but place offer will be hard with a 97 ATAR, the higher the better), UQ (hope you have bonus points to boost your ATAR? Will help immensely with place offer chances), UNSW no unless you have an ATAR of 99.25+, JMP. WSU - borderline but if you're lucky you may scrape an interview, Monash no, UWA no unless 99+ ATAR, Curtin no unless your ATAR is a lot higher. Griffith/Flinders/UTAS all need very high 99 ATARs. JCU depends on written application but a 98+ ATAR would be ideal. Good luck :)

Another DrPotato! Hello!
You'll get a JMP interview but unfortunately WSU is highly unlikely and UNSW is definite no due to your ATAR. Your GPA is perfect so that bodes well for JCU, but you'll need a top quality written application to get an interview there. Best of luck :)

Specific Question: I am sitting the SAT in October, should I achieve a better SAT than IB score, would that be considered instead of my IB altogether?

I have met all the subject prereqs of chemistry, mathematics and english in my IB but intend to apply with SAT if the equivalent ATAR is higher IB equivalent.

Interviews at UAdel (yes cutoff should drop but hard to predict by how much), JMP maybe, UNSW likely not, WSU no, Monash no, UWA yes, Curtin yes, UQ yes. Flinders you'll need 99.95 or 99.9 ATAR (if lucky), Griffith you need 99.6+ for USC and 99.7+ for Nathan/GC, UTAS unlikely, JCU depends on written application. Good luck :)
