Monash definitely have a Vic preference. That said, I'd think you would get an interview, especially if you do get the 99.95 you're hoping for. And yes, I'd recommend applying widely as a Kiwi as you're not eligible for 28.5% of all positions on offer as you can't get a BMP so even though you have great results, you're still going to rely on interview performance, so I'd apply widely if I were you. Are you applying to non-interview unis also? UTas, Flinders, and Griffith?

Also, note, you're definitely not a GWS applicant, that stands for Greater Western Sydney.
Thanks! I haven't applied to non-interview unis yet but I'll have a look at that soon. Thanks for the heads up... the competition is even greater for me then :'))))

Your rural status means you should receive interview invites at all universities who hold them*. I'd also recommend a UTas application. It's free and doesn't rely on interview performance. Rurality is weighted and so RA3+ is more 'preferred' but definitely still worth an application.

*JCU Med and Dent will rely on your written application. Again rurality is weighted.

Good luck.

Yea cheers ive applied to UTAS as well. When you mean Rurality is weighted, im assuming you are talking about UTas and not every uni?

Application Type: Non standard
Predicted ATAR/GPA: GPA 6.3
UCAT Percentile Rank: Unsure? My score is 2610. According to prelims it is approx 60th percentile, but on the link it says its 58th percentile?

Applying to: 1. CSU 2. JMP 3. UNSW 4. UniAdelaide 5. Latrobe 6. JCU
Rural Applicant: yes (orange NSW) RA2
GWS Applicant: no
Indigenous Applicant: no
Other: EAS potentially for a small amount for UNSW / JMP
Specific Question: Thoughts on CSU interview/offer? First round? I feel it is unlikely to get a place with a second round top up interview. If not, I think I have a better chance at JMP??

A first round JPM interview last year required 612 for a rural applicant, and this was substantially reduced from the year before (pre-CSU addition), so it's difficult to say whether there will be another drop this year. Top up interviews dropped the requirement to 579 though, so you're still in-line for an interview. Once you have an interview, the interview performance is weighted very heavily so there's definitely still an offer chance.

You should also get a JMP interview. UNSW might rely on how much EAS you are eligible for. JCU will depend on your written application. When you say LaTrobe, do you mean the pathway via the BBioMedSci(Med) with UMelb?

Best of luck.

You should get a JMP interview. JPM is very unlikely unless requirements drop significantly. UNSW is not beyond the realms of possibility depending on what your ATAR was and how much uni you've completed by the end of the year. If you have a completed degree, Curtin would also likely interview you.
JCU will depend heavily on your written application.
Bond would give you a psychometric test invite.

Good luck!!
Apologies to clarify. "JPM interview last year required 612 for a rural applicant" - is this CSU/WSU? (Confused what JPM is)
If I get a top up interview, whats the likelihood of a top up offer? Do you roughly know when interview offers are released (first round) and top ups for CSU?

ok- so theres probably more of a chance with UON/UNE? (pending I interview well).

also, may I ask - why do you think there was a drop from 2019 to 2020 in interview requirment?

JPM =Joint Program in Medicine - the WSU/CSU collab.
If you get a top up interview, it doesn't mean you get a top up offer. It means you get interviewed at the same time as everyone else and are eligible for offers at the same time as everyone else. Top up interviews are generally offered when the confirmation cut off for interviews elapses and the Universities know how many spaces they have available still due to people pulling out/not booking an interview.

The drop was due to the introduction of the predominantly rural CSU pathway. Now that that is up and running, the drop (if any) won't be anywhere near as substantial. In fact, it's possible the requirement even increases slightly as there can be a small amount of movement either way from year to year depending on the applicant pool.

You will definitely get interviews at JPM and JMP. UNSW is less likely. The lowest non-rural GPA we had report an offer here last year was 6.50, and the lowest non-rural ATAR was 99.35. Still worth an application, but an interview would be a bonus rather than a likelihood. Best of luck.

No, that didn't include rural applicants. We have so little data reported for rural applicants to UQ Dent that we don't actually know what the requirement was. There was one rural offer reported here last year and they had 76th%ile, so at least as far down as that. Your 92% is very safe.

I'd think so. The top up GWS requirement dropped to 697 last year so hopefully the slight shift in scores we've seen doesn't impact the interview invite numbers too dramatically to the point a 716 misses out. Good luck!!

Unfortunately, unless things change drastically, you're unlikely to receive interviews at any of the three NSW-based Universities. Your best bets are JCU (heavy reliance on written application) and Bond (full fee paying). Best of luck.
