hmall11 's offer seems to contradict UNSW's claim as their ATAR was below 99.60 and their GPA converted to 99.50 yet still received an offer. hmall11 can you confirm whether you received any EAS or other bonuses?

Can confirm. When I contacted them about my scats application they said since financial hardship was during uni it can’t boost my ranking (as per ucatboy’s post on scats info - but I tried anyway lol)

I’m non-standard with no adjustment factors and received an offer today. On UNSW website they say it’s a combination of all three factors that creates a ranking (on the selection for offer page)

Actually you never know, that could be what happened. Since I did an Honours degree it could have been another tier? No idea

Which email address did you send email to check this as my UCAT is same as you and ATAR 99.75 but did not get offer, just want to check

Got 99.95 ATAR and 3030 UCAt, got refused, I also sent email to [email protected]. I am told over the phone ucat cut-off 2960 and ATAR cut-off 99.60 , not sure I didn't receive an offer

What are the chances of being offered a place in the upcoming offer rounds? Also, all the offers that came out are for the Kensington campus, did offers for the Port Macquarie and Wagga Wagga campuses also come out?

I received an offer for the interview around 2 weeks before my Atar came out, 1 day after I sent them my ISAT result and when I contacted UNSW staff to ask when they'd let me know the result, they said via UAC January round and even when if I don't get in, they'd still send me a letter of rejection???

I honestly have no idea how things work for International applications, I'm sorry. It could well be different than for domestic students. BoarVessel got a UNSW offer as an international student and may be able to help.

The next big round is likely going to be dominated by interstate offers as they will have interviewed by then. There might be some top ups done after that, sometimes via phone, to either locals or interstate (just the next on the list, so to speak).

All the offers that were reported here were for Kensington or were not specified. That's not to say there were no offers at all made for PM or WW. I don't think we've ever had a WW offer reported here (is that new?), and we get very minimal PM offers reported each year so it's not surprising none have been specified.

LMG! Thanks for the reply! Just a quick update on the status of my application for UNSW. I just contacted a staff member and they said the med offers for international students like me are released tomorrow. I actually got an offer for WSU med already and I have placed a deposit to secure my place so if I am to reject the WSU med later, I have to do it today (4 weeks before the course commences to get back 90% of the deposit otherwise I will lose the whole thing). I guess in that case I will just accept WSU for sure

I would suggest that you call UNSW for further inquiries. The wait is not that bad as I just contacted them and I only had to wait for max 5 mins.

I completely agree, it’s ridiculous. Especially from a uni that used to go to lengths to not interview students in this position. In my year (2018 entry) and years prior, UNSW would provide interstate students with a guide to their competitiveness closer to their interview time so they could decide if they wanted to save $$ on the flights/accomm required. They wouldn’t interview anyone with no chance.

I received the same email except it was UAC rank, not UCAT score that I fell below on. If the cutoff is 99.60 surely they should be making adjustments to the scores of non-standards to make them eligible. If someone can achieve a 7.0 whilst passing the other 2 thresholds and is unable to be offered a spot then there's something seriously wrong with their system.

Absolutely crushed. I thought that with a 99th percentile ucat, 99.8 ATAR and a seemingly smooth interview I would have a good chance of entering UNSW undergrad. Turns out that I was not only rejected by UNSW but by every other NSW uni I applied for. There's really nothing I can do about it but I just want someone to hear me.

Commiserations for this UAC round. Your results are clearly amazing and Griffith and possibly UTas and others will happily send an offer your way, but I completely understand your current disappointment. Make the most of the rest of your holiday period and hopefully a NSW university comes through for you in a later round but, if not, may you enjoy wherever you end up!

I completely agree, it’s ridiculous.

Since UNSW is repeatedly quoting the line "offered to the highest ranks determined by all measures" they are using the combo method. It so happened that among the good-enough combos, the lowest ATAR is 99.60 and lowest UCAT is 2960 (but note these can belong to two different applicants who have vastly higher scores in the other two components).

So to be fair to UNSW, when sending out interview invites they didn't know what these cutoffs would be. Who knows if the UCAT 2880 that got invited had scored a top interview, their combo would have been sufficient for an offer (and thereby set the UCAT "cutoff" to 2880 instead of 2960).

Unfortunately their interview wasn't top so combo isn't high enough. The fault is in UNSW saying like it was their UCAT that's solely not high enough.
