UoA 'What papers should I do at UoA for graduate entry' Chat/enquiries

I've heard its interesting too - field trip! Im also thinking of taking it over summer.
Have you given up on Med?

Wonder what the content and assessments are like in terms of difficulty as I've never taken a geography course before... Was really tempted to sneak into one of lectures to get a feel of it but never got around to it and now it's too late, oh well :)

No, I'm still applying, but realistically speaking my chances of getting in are minimal... Especially considering how well everyone is doing this year

I have a friend who did it so ill enquire for you.

Oh okay cool! Well don't buy into the you-have-to-get-a-9-thing :)
Good luck!

Hi guys, I just finished my second year of my physiology degree and need help choosing my 3rd year papers. I am trying to decide between medsci 301, 302, 307 and chem 390 or 392. I can only do one of these papers. Are the 3rd year medsci labs a lot harder than medsci 205 labs, or about the same in terms of effort required? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

is it allowed to do biosci201 in your 3rd year or does it have to be done in year 2?

You can take it whenever you want as long as long as you've met the prerequisites.

Can anyone kindly offer some tips on writing lab reports for medsci papers? In general or for medsci 205 specifically! I have never had experience of writing them and I'm aware that they can eat up quite a bit of time...

I apologize if this has already been answered or discussed before!

But just regarding MEDSCI205 and MEDSCI203

What are the best approaches to studying these papers? Does the test scores affect your overall grade much? I hear everyone tends to perform not too well on the first 205 test, although the average this year was significantly higher compared to previous years

Also MEDSCI202 was a relatively easy paper however, I am unsure as to how to study for the second half of the course for it

Does anyone who took MEDSCI206 in the past and did well have any advice on how to tackle this paper? Just picked up the course guide and it reminds me of the 205 guide... in a bad way (i.e. barely any content ) :/ Would be really appreciated!

Haha you're not alone!
I'm enjoying it way more than sem 1 mainly because 206 is a way better paper than 205... How are you keeping up so far?
I'm not D:
For some reason I am way lazier so far compared to sem 1... Just can't seem to get into proper studying :( Oh well, I'm just hoping that one day the pressure of upcoming tests and lab reports will kick in and I'll begin working hard again haha

How are your stage 1 papers going?

Good so far.. 103 is really content heavy; it's not very difficult conceptually but a lot of rote learning required lol psych 108 is great though
