UQ UQ Dentistry: Admissions General Discussion

Hi guys, just have a quick question:
I'm aware that gap year applicants are not eligible to apply for this program, but does this restriction also apply to Year 12 re-takers who are currently a full-time year 12 student? I have contacted UQ about this but unfortunately they didin't give any info about this :(

Gap years are not eligible for UQ med

However they are eligible for UQ dent

I don’t think this is a requirement for UQ Dent actually.

Are the bonus atar points solely for those in rural areas? or does meeting certain performances in subjects add on points. And if i get a 98 and 1 extra point would that mean im at 99? sorry for all these questions im js a lil confused

You can get +2 points for getting a C or above in Units 3 & 4 of a LOTE or equivalent and another +2 points for getting a C or above in Units 3 & 4 of QLD Specialist Math or equivalent, and a further +2 points for being rural. You can also get +1 point for doing eligible tertiary education courses in your final year of high school. And yes, +2 points added to, say, a 97.00 ATAR would mean the ATAR would be boosted to a 99.00.

I heard that 99.00 ATAR is a hurdle and anything above that will still count as 99.00. But does anyone know if this 99.00 hurdle is based on raw or adjusted ATAR? For example, if I got a raw ATAR of 97 but boosted to 99 with subject bonuses, will this make no difference to applicants with raw 99.00 ATAR? Thanks in advance.

its a 99 selection rank hurdle, so if you get a raw ATAR below that but get bonus points for doing a language or spec math etc. and get a 99+ selection rank, you’re eligible

3596 is the lowest score to receive an offer from the final offer round.
Hello, from what I know is that last year (2024 intake), the first round offer was 3684, was wondering if I would be able to have a chance with 3651?

UQ dent UCAT cut-off varies each year, it depends on the amount of applicants and how many people accept the first round offer.

ive seen somewhere on uq site saying unadjusted atars are considered first, but since 99 is just a hurdle would that mean anyone above 99 adjusted or unadjusted would be considered the same?

Yes 99+ adjusted or unadjusted are considered the same, except in the case of the last few place offers if they tie on the same final-ranking score then the raw ATAR wins (ie. the ATAR that *needs the adjustment to tie* is considered lower).

Do you guys reckon a combined score of 3800 (3200 + 600 SJT) would be enough for an offer? Also, is the last year's cutoff of 3684 mentioned the first round cutoff or is that the for last round? Thanks

Was on the phone with Queensland Uni today, they have confirmed that if you are repeating a Year 12 subject, you can get adjustment points for eligible subjects listed here Subject Incentive Scheme (Languages other than English, Specialist Mathematics etc.) completed in previous years, even if you are not repeating those subjects this year.
Hey guys is ↑ still valid? This post was so long ago and with UQ frequently changing their entry schemes year to year, I just wanted to confirm is this is still true. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I'm applying to uq dent with a gpa 6.6 and a ucat 3764 (with sjt). I know uq's ucat cut off varies year to year, but would this give me a good chance of getting in?

Hi. After my daughter applied for UQ dent, she got email from UQ regarding UQ link program for EAS. Email said, she will get 5 adjusted factor for selection rank. If my daughter has 99.55 ATAR, her ATAR will be boosted to 99.95?

Afaik UQ Dent sets ATAR as 99+ hurdle i.e. they take all the 99+s (raw or adjusted) then rank them on UCAT 5-section total.

So getting boosted from 99.55 to 99.95 makes no difference to whether getting a place offer.
