Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 'adjustment point' we're talking about is the subject incentive scheme for UQ right? I vaguely remember RainRainGoAway mentioning they were made ineligible for the EAS through QTAC. Since the subject incentive scheme does not apply to gap year students, it is showing as 'not satisfied,' and their final selection rank of 98.9 does not meet the 99 cutoff. Just my guess tho

Yes, my QTAC EAS was ‘approved but not applied’ as mentioned by the admission team. (Which honestly has so many other weird problems and implications but ah well). I have other options and all the other states approved my EAS so we will keep pushing!!

I am not retaking the HSC, so no subject incentives for me!

Yes you should get all three NSW med interviews.

Your 3300+607= 3907 looks like a certainty for UQ Dent (last year cutoff was below 3700 iirc).
If you intend to 100% take up UQ Dent as a last resort, I would pull out of UNSW T3 to save HECS fees if I were you.

I'm not A1, but to save him some time, yes, each adjustment point is equivalent to 1 ATAR. Also UQ dent is 99 ATAR threshold meaning anything above 99 will mean no difference to 99.00 ATAR. So if you are eligible for 2 adjustment points, 97 ATAR is all you need and the rest is up to your UCAT score.

Hey everyone! I know this seems like a silly question, but there isn't a chance that UQ has started giving out offers for Indigenous students yet right? As an Indigenous person I submitted the application to them as directed awhile ago. Today I got an Australia post notification that a parcel is being sent to me from "UQ mail room QLD". I definitely haven't received any emails from UQ, so I can't imagine it's an offer. I can't help but hope though!

Generally speaking, offer correspondence is via email and QTAC. But maybe they have something additional for indigenous applicants?

Increase/decrease depending on the applicants pool would be known as a competitive cutoff.

Hurdle is a threshold preset by the uni/school, it seldom changes. I believe UQ Dent website still indicates 99.0 and from the table three posts above it's 6.5 non-UQ GPA or 5.80 UQ GPA.

- The undergrad Bachelor is 5-year long, CSP, school leaver or non-standard or graduate can apply via QTAC
- The graduate-entry DDM is 3.5-year long, FFP at $72,600 a year = $254,000 total, apply to UQ directly

Also note the prereqs for the DDM
> Doctor of Dental Medicine - Study - The University of Queensland

"To be eligible for entry, you'll need:
- A bachelor's degree in health, allied health, physical sciences or biological sciences, and
- To have completed the GAMSAT within 4 years prior to the year of commencement, and
- Must have successfully completed 2 units (1 course) Human Anatomy - musculoskeletal anatomy; and 2 units (1 course) in Human Physiology - systems physiology."

The BDS(Hons) webpage > Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) - Study - The University of Queensland

has a link to "Learn about pathway options" which leads to
"Tertiary studies pathway" > https://study.uq.edu.au/sites/default/files/2020-03/tertiary-studies-selection-rank-info-sheet.pdf

The key info from this pdf is the table showing 1FTE year or more (no upper limit) and "Refers to study by coursework including bachelor degree, graduate diploma, postgraduate courses including masters and doctorate level studies". You see even Masters or PhD students are eligible, you are a mere Bachelor holder.

Thanks so much A1! I saw someone apply the UoM grading scale in that way on this forum, but I'm not sure where they derived that information. Just to confirm, would QTAC base their calculations off of the letter grade (e.g. H1) instead of the percentage (e.g. 85%) even when both are present on the academic transcript?

A1 replies: I remember seeing an MSO post from a member who asked QTAC about this. QTAC confirmed GPA is calculated on the letter grades, not the numeric marks. (Whereas GEMSAS does it on the numeric marks).
