Hey guys, when are percentiles expected to be released? Based on previous years

Hey, I got an UCAT of 3140 with a 620 VR have put WSU medicine (Im GWS) as my first preference followed on my JMP Medicine. Do you think I have a chance for the uni and I should at least start preparing for WSU med interviews? Would be glad if you could give a response on my question

Your 3140 and WSU-weighted 730 are both slightly below last year's JMP & GWS cutoffs.
Let's hope the cutoffs this year will drop lower for you to get their interviews. Best of luck.

Curtin is very reliant on Casper results to get Interview. How did that go? Hopefully well given your SJT score is good. Also are you only considering medicine? How about dent at UWA? As a local non-rural, non Broadway/non StepUp candidate, 2830 could be enough for dent interview maybe.

Okay so my CASPER is 3rd quartile (though, as with quartiles, I'm unsure where I placed within there)...I got a pretty good SJT of 730 though I don't think that's a replacement for a mid CASPER score.

If the threshold doesn't go up from last year you might be good to get a UWA interview.

For Curtin you can get a second round interview for the January round given your Casper is ~4th quartile

Wow okay really? Just gonna pray that it doesn't go up too much then .

I mean I got 3rd quartile, so hopefully its borderline 3rd/4th.

Overwhelmed and confused since QTAC allows only 6 preferences. Wanting to apply Medicine / Dentistry - Non UCAT and UCAT ones - JCU has Cairns / Townsville as separate course codes, CQU also has separate course codes (around 4 options), UQ, USQ etc...
Based on the below UCAT score could some one please advise what would be the best 1-6 preferences to select to get an interview offer - If any?

VR: 740
DM: 710
QR: 900
AR: 850
Total: 3200
SJ: 543
Predicted/Actual ATAR/GPA: 98 - 99.1
Rural: No
State: VIC

Any response will be highly appreciated.

Relating to the question above, would applying for bonded instead of unbonded for all of the programs be a good option. As I'm confused if applying for bonded means that you only have access to the bottom 28.5% of offers, or if it means you are available to all the spots but only get a bonded offer at the end. I had the same question cause there’s no way to fit all the courses if u do both unbonded and bonded.

You have access to all the spots but will only get a bonded one as it’s your ‘preference’ (even though it’s probably not - it’s just a by-product of the stupid limitations). It won’t limit your chances of getting an offer, but it will nix your chances of getting a CSP.

Your UCAT is great. Your predicted ATAR ranges from probably not enough to just enough so is tricky!

You can rule out Griffith Med and ~probably JCU Med (given you’re not rural and your ATAR isn’t fab).

I’d personally rule out Griffith Dent due to $$$ and you have plenty of other options that are feasible.

Presumably you’re also applying to Monash, JMP, JPM, UAdel etc?

I don’t know much about Dent unfortunately.

Your WSU-weighted UCAT 752 is likely enough for GWS interview.
Unfortunately I don't think 2950 will be enough for Med anywhere else. I don't know much about Dent.

UQ is different in that they weight the interview 50% equal to the other two combined. I'd rate your chance roughly as 40% for unbonded, 60% for bonded.

Wouldn't you prefer 5-year Monash over 7-year UQ?

I see. Thanks for the insight. Would you say more people make it past the interview stage than the UCAT stage? As in is the interview a bigger eliminator of candidates than the UCAT? Also, Monash is out of the question for me since I didn't do chemistry and would rather not take a gap year to fulfill that prerequisite.

It’s not a level comparison to make any meaningful comment. Literally thousands of people apply to each uni every year and only several hundred are invited to interview.

On average 15 med applicants are pruned down to 3 interviews (so 5 to 1) then the 3 interviewees are pruned down to 1 place offer.

99.80 3010 Vic applicant you should definitely get Monash 1st-round interview.

Hi A1, thank you for your reply, but I thought 1st round is based on Ucat score only, and last year cut-off was 3020 , so not very confident that I will be invited for 1st round. Just hope I will be invited 2nd once I get my ATAR.

A1 replies: My apology, I'm so used to Monash's old way of 2nd round for interstate.
I think 3010 itself could be enough for 1st round. If not then 99.80+3010 should be good for the ATAR+UCAT 2nd round.

Yes you should get all three NSW med interviews.

Your 3300+607= 3907 looks like a certainty for UQ Dent (last year cutoff was below 3700 iirc).
If you intend to 100% take up UQ Dent as a last resort, I would pull out of UNSW T3 to save HECS fees if I were you.
