Hi, I'm a rural secondary school leaver Medicine applicant (MM3) from SA, and am trying to apply interstate as well. I would really appreciate some help with how I should order my preferences for QTAC, UAC and VTAC applications. I've got a 2980 UCAT. Can anyone please help out by listing an example of how I should order my preferences - I just don't know enough about interstate medicine universities and feel like what I can gather from their websites is not enough. Thanks in advance for any help!

Curtin is very reliant on Casper results to get Interview. How did that go? Hopefully well given your SJT score is good. Also are you only considering medicine? How about dent at UWA? As a local non-rural, non Broadway/non StepUp candidate, 2830 could be enough for dent interview maybe.

Are you a WA local ? If so maybe as last year's cut off is rumoured to have been around there for an interview.

The interviews are for both so the cutoff to receive an interview invite is the same for both dentistry and UWA med

the lowest non-broadway non-rural score reported here last year on MSO for UWA med/dent interview invite was 2820

UNSW & JCU are possible depending on your uni GPA.

A1 replies: I don't know much about the dent schools.
For med, being a nonstandard/uni-student applicant you're limited to UNSW, WSU, JMP, JCU and Bond. There's no other interstate option.

A1 replies: UCAT 3260 should get interviews with all these schools provided your ATAR meets their thresholds. The main concern is 99.5+ for UNSW but with EAS high 98s is probably sufficient.

I was just looking at the JMP website and there appears to be a change in how interviews are conducted.
Will this mean a flat UCAT cutoff for all will change this time and more preference be given to NSW and QLD students?

A1 replies: JMP has always invited ACT/QLD students to the same interview round as NSW, nothing unusual.
It's unlikely they will give preference to QLD but not to Tas/Vic/SA/WA.

I've looked back at website in 2023 and 2022 through the wayback machine and yeah they have the same wording as this year so ig nothing has changed in that regard.
