UES 99.95 + 3200 is virtually guaranteed of Flinders place offer, congratulations.

UAdel uses 40% ATAR + 20% UCAT + 40% interview for the final ranking so still dependent on the interview. Thanks to the high ATAR/UCAT I'd rate her chances for unbonded at 50/50, bonded at 70% (or conversely 30% chance no Adel offer at all).

For interstate WSU is out, should get interviews with UQ & JMP, borderline for UNSW & Monash due to raw 99.5.



I think you're borderline for both JMP and WSU-GWS interviews.
If you get an invite then place offer chance is around 35-40%.

hi my brother did his ucat today. he is stressing saying he is "borderline" (i think he is borderline crazy) but as an older sis i cant help but worry.
he got a 3080 with his 5 sets as:

QR: 790

He said he tried 2 score formulas and got 735.8 and another 740. ik that western sydney has a greater western sydney thing so i called and they said we fall under the greater western sydney scheme. i asked them about the score formula thing my brother was talking about but they said they cant reveal any information about that?!?!?! ik im yapping but im worried for him, he really wants med. he said he might get unsw interview coz last year his eas got accepted (i dont know if he is THAAAAT smart). he got a 98.15 atar. so if his atar was boosted to a 99.95 with adjustment factors does he have a chance at unsw med? or any unis interstate? (i really want him to get monash coz im at monash)

i should update this. I am at monash. he lives in sydney w my parents.

A1 replies: 740 is indeed borderline for WSU-GWS.
If your brother gets EAS to boost his ATAR he should get UNSW interview.
He'd need to get SEAS to have a chance at Monash. No other med schools I can think of, except try his luck with JCU.

If you’re graduating this year, your options are huge assuming you’ve done both UCAT and GAMSAT?

From the UCAT side of things, the non-standard options for you are JPM, JMP, UNSW, and Curtin. I’d think your UCAT will be too low for JMP though and would need to know your ATAR for UNSW.

JCU and Bond are also options that don’t need either test.

UTAS requires GAMSAT for graduates, not UCAT. But yes, that’s another option (alongside the rest of the graduate entry unis).

Hello, last year I sat the UCAT and obtained a score of 3220.

Pretty crushed this year with a UCAT of 3070 which is too low for the likely JMP cutoff and being non-gws puts me out of the running for WSU Since my ATAR is too low I cannot apply to UNSW either with my GPA of 6.5 - does anyone know if there's somewhere I have a chance?

Hey A1 I just wanted to clarify what you meant by this.

I thought this rule was concerning those year 12 resit applicants that enrolled in a school under UES scheme (ie you can no longer qualify for UES using this)

Afaik I am not doing this. I enrolled to sit WACE as a non-school candidate so this means I am not repeating year 12 through a school such as Cyril Jackson etc. (just sitting the final exams and that's all).

Edit: I am still waiting on confirmation from UWA to see if I still retain Broadway status this year but I believe they said it is fine as long as I am not repeating through a school (because this loophole has been closed in WA too ) so anyways I thought this was the case in SA

Do you know when UWA changed this policy, I've just been made aware 8 months into the year while redoing 2 subjects at a broadway school, taking a gap year and redoing my UCAT. Seems harsh to make me go down this route and then switch up midway through. I've seen people in here use the same pathway last year, and confirmed it with the university and TISC before starting. You would think they'd inform me beforehand so I don't put myself through all this stress and agony for no reason.

You are correct this rule won't apply to you.
I knew of it but didn't remember the exact detail, so alerted you to check to be sure.

This is what UES says > Adjustment factors – SATAC
"If you have already achieved an ATAR from a non-qualifying school and then enrol in a qualifying school to improve your ATAR you will not be eligible for school-based equity adjustments."
i.e. no UES adjustments to those who, after obtaining an ATAR, switch from a regular school to a disadvantaged school.

Hope you have any information about this too A1, otherwise what are my chances with a 98.80, EAS and 2860 UCAT.

A lot worse than my last attempt, really disappointed. Applying to JMP and WSU, I know JMP is definitely out of the question, but what about for WSU, am a GWS applicant.

Yo I've just found out that raw scores/variants were able to be seen with people comparing material to figure out which variant was which. This seems like it would invalidate the legitimacy of the test right? I'm kinda stressing bc I actually did really well on mine today and will be super annoyed if I have to resit.
