Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys know what the chances of me getting an interview for BOH at Adelaide Uni is. (Unfortunately I kinda screwed up the UCAT 😢)

Hi I took a gap year this yr and just sat my UCAT today, what chance do I have for getting an interview offer from any med or dent school in AU. I am considered as a direct school leaver still. Also how should I order my preference in my application for Flinders + Adelaide? Thank you

Hi guys, was wondering what my chances were for JMP, UNSW, WSU, Adelaide and Monash?
ATAR of 99.00 but I have 1 point EAS with UNSW and with SEAS my selection rank is a 99.9 for Monash.
My UCAT was a 3190 with 710 VR (hopefully still a 97%).
Also I'm GWS from NSW.
Thank you

___________
A1 replies: 3190 should get you JMP & Adelaide interviews.
If you get EAS & SEAS then UNSW & Monash are likely.
Hopefully the 710VR won't drag you below GWS cutoff.

Yo I've just found out that raw scores/variants were able to be seen with people comparing material to figure out which variant was which. This seems like it would invalidate the legitimacy of the test right? I'm kinda stressing bc I actually did really well on mine today and will be super annoyed if I have to resit.
people have been able to do this since UCAT 2023 and it got patched about halfway into this years testing period so it won't affect you.

Yes, we’ve definitely had past MSO users report that this has happened to them. Unfortunately for the majority that I can re all (keep in mind this is a tiny number), I believe it negatively affected their chances but I’d have to go digging to find the actual comments.
negatively!!? oh no.. I got a 3070 which is a bit borderline in terms of med and I just wanted to know if the annotation could help?

Unfortunately, I heard that the annotation didn’t help and the raw score was used as there was no real way for the uni to do anything different when they have hundred (if not thousands) of applicants they need to cull.

ETA: keep in mind though, this is SUCH a rare thing we see reported here, so I have no real idea how widespread this is or how it’s dealt with. I don’t mean to discourage you but I would recommend protesting/trying to get a re-sit if at all possible.

Hey guys hypothetical question, but what would the chances be for someone who got an ATAR of 99.3 and a UCAT score of 3160 to get an UNSW medicine interview. Does an applicant with no special considerations, have a very low chance at an UNSW medicine interview if their ATAR is below 99.5?

hi guys idk if this is the right place to do this, but i was wondering if my ucat score and atar is enough to get me into med or dent anywhere in aus or new Zealand.
my atar was 97 in 2023 and my ucat this yr was 2840, im not rural
JPM/WSU formula (2xVR + Total) / 6: 683.33

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you so much!!

From 2-3 years ago UNSW introduced the new interview-selection rule of a hard cutoff on ATAR, which happened to occur at 99.5 the last two years.

What cutoff will occur this year we don't know, could be under 99.5. But whatever it is it's a hard cutoff, there's no leniency afterwards.

Hi guys I was wondering whether my ATAR will be competitive enough for interstate unis, considering my (hopefully) good UCAT score (im actually so happy lol). Ik that normally you would need a 99+, so do I still have any chances? Thanks so much :)

___________
A1 replies: 98+ with UES & 3320 should guarantee you Flinders place offer.
If you still want to consider interstate, if you get EAS/MG with 98+ / 3320 you should be more than competitive.

Will be applying to every med, dent schools in Australia. What are my chances?

___________
A1 replies: With UES-boosted 99.95 + 3200 you should get Flinders place offer.
Monash interview is certainty for Vic local.
3200 should also get you JMP & Adelaide interviews. VR 630 doesn't look enough for WSU, ATAR 99 not enough for UNSW.
Thanks for the reply A1. Do you think 99.00ATAR + EAS still won't be able to make UNSW's 99.50 cutoff?

___________
A1 replies: Sorry I overlooked the EAS last time. Yes ATAR 99.0 + EAS should make UNSW interview cutoff.

Hi all!
I just did my UCAT today and got 3190, with a VR of 710. I'm currently a second year UNSW student with a gpa of 6.8 and I wanna know where I'm likely to get interviews. Are any interstate options possible as well?
Thanks!
Hey I got 3380 ucat with 780 in VR. I'm first year science student with gpa of 6.8 and wam of 79, can I get non standard for unsw or does anyone know of past scores I can relate to.

___________
A1 replies: Provided your ATAR was 96+ your GPA 6.8 & 3380 should get UNSW and JMP interviews.
3380 with 780VR should be enough for WSU interview too.

Hey everyone,
I'm a school leaver non rural applicant from QLD, I redid UCAT and plan to use my ATAR from 2022.
UCAT: 2950
ATAR: 98.5

Does anyone know what my options are, if any, for dentistry or medicine?

Maybe Griffith dent, the Ucat cut-off for interview is 2930 for 2024 entry, but the cut-off tends to increase by 30 every year.

Hey, so now that the testing period is over, does anyone know usually what date summary statistics and percentiles are released? Based on last year or the years before?

A1 I was wondering if my GPA and UCAT is good enough for UNSW or JMP. I think WSU is very unlikely considering my VR. What would the lowest competitive GPA be for UNSW interview. One of my university lecturers pretty much told the class that no one will get a HD, so I am considering doing part-time this semester and making sure I keep my GPA up. This would mean that I have only completed 0.75 FTE by the end of the year, but UNSW website says this is enough to use GPA for selection?

Hi, would love to know my chances for med in NSW as a first year uni student.

Other Special Considerations: GWS
I was also wondering with WSU, would they consider my 2023 atar since it clears the 93.5 GWS hurdle, or take my 2024 WAM/GPA.

For UNSW 0.75 FTE makes the GPA usable. However problem is UNSW/UAC won't use the GPA value itself but its equiv Selection Rank instead. We know this SR conversion is very poor for sub-1FTE so it'll be less than your 'best of' 99.15 which in turn is not enough.

You should keep doing full-time and hope to achieve 6.5+. In any case you should have JMP interview in the bag.

I was also wondering with WSU, would they consider my 2023 atar since it clears the 93.5 GWS hurdle, or take my 2024 WAM/GPA.
Unless you have completed a degree, WSU uses either ATAR or GPA so either one or both of them higher than the hurdle is fine.
