Hi, I am a NZ school leaver and sat my UCAT a few days ago, and received a score of 3390+628. I was wondering whether interstate applicants (or NZ applicants in particular) are eligible for a first-round interview at Monash, or whether we are limited to the interstate round. If we are eligible, could I have a shot at receiving this first-round int offer as I am aware Monash interstate is very competitive? Thanks
I think they have a separate round for interstate+NZ and your UCAT score should be high enough for that since it was like 98%tile before.

hi everyone, i did my ucat a few days ago and here are my results:

600 VR
730 DM
890 QR
750 AR

i'm in GWS and a first year uni student

which med/dent schools in australia do i have a shot at?
Unlikely to get a chance at med, but you may get a Griffith dent interview (last year cutoff was 2940) and/or a UQ dent offer (given a combined score of >~3700 with SJT included and a good GPA, last year cutoff was 3684).

Monash is competitive, but not that competitive. Coupled with a high ATAR equivalent you should be fine.

Does anyone know what the rural JMP cut-off is? I have heard some people getting in with scores as low as 2100. Would this be true?
I got an interview last year with 2670. I think my score was pretty close to cutoff. The year before, the cutoff was 2560.

Hello, I would like to know my chances for Western Sydney Uni and Newcastle Uni.

My daughter wants to stay in SA. Her first priority is unbonded UAdel medicine and second is Flinders. She also considers interstate but, we're not sure if she can get any chance from interstate.

UES 99.95 + 3200 is virtually guaranteed of Flinders place offer, congratulations.

UAdel uses 40% ATAR + 20% UCAT + 40% interview for the final ranking so still dependent on the interview. Thanks to the high ATAR/UCAT I'd rate her chances for unbonded at 50/50, bonded at 70% (or conversely 30% chance no Adel offer at all).

For interstate WSU is out, should get interviews with UQ & JMP, borderline for UNSW & Monash due to raw 99.5.

I think you're borderline for both JMP and WSU-GWS interviews.
If you get an invite then place offer chance is around 35-40%.

A1 replies: For med you're borderline for JMP and WSU-GWS interviews.
Unfortunately your ATAR 97.65 WAM 69 is unlikely to be enough for UNSW.

Hey! This is my second time sitting the UCAT and got sooo much better:)) I was wondering my shot at getting into UNSW, WSU and JMP as a non-standard:))

A1 replies: Your 3390/812 will most likely get you JMP & WSU-NSW interviews.
UNSW too if your GPA remains at 6.5+.

Hi, I was just wondering if I would be competitive for UQ/CQU/USQ considering my lower atar and also if it is worth applying interstate. Thanks!:)

___________
A1 replies: If your ATAR is boosted with +2 ranks you're more than competitive for the UQ group of med schools.
780 is unlikely enough for WSU interstate. But 3260 is certainly worth applying to JMP & Adelaide.

Hi, I was just wondering if I would have any chance for med considering my lower GPA and UCAT as non-standard applicant. Thanks!:)

___________
A1 replies: Unfortunately I don't see your GPA 6 and 3060 enough for the non-standard med schools, sorry.

has anyone heard of the ucat annotation where they put a annotation with your score when providing it to the unis to say that you experienced some disturbance during the exam. anyone know how helpful it is or if unis actually consider it when giving interviews/looking at your score?

Hi, just had my ucat today, with a score of 3250. (740 vr, 780dm, 890 qr, 840 ar). my SJT was 596. I am a GWS student. Can anyone let me know of my best options? For context, I am a gap year student, atar of 98.75. I am keen on WSU, but am unsure if my SJT meets the hurdle that I have heard people talk about?

___________
A1 replies: SJT 596 shouldn't be a problem for WSU hurdle, we've heard of a 520ish getting interview then place offer.
With 3250 you'll also get JMP & Adelaide interviews.

bigmac74 My daughter had similar UCAT/same raw ATAR with no special consideration and was interstate, and made to UAdel med (unbonded). She is now in 2nd year of the course. Congratulations, your daughter will be fine. I know how you feel. Take it easy 😄

Thanks. She want to go to UAdel Med. Her first preference is UAdel Med CSP and second is Flinders, third is UAdel BMP, fourth is UAdel Dent. Hopefully she can get first.

Will be applying to every med, dent schools in Australia. What are my chances?

___________
A1 replies: With UES-boosted 99.95 + 3200 you should get Flinders place offer.
Monash interview is certainty for Vic local.
3200 should also get you JMP & Adelaide interviews. VR 630 doesn't look enough for WSU, ATAR 99 not enough for UNSW.

Yes, we’ve definitely had past MSO users report that this has happened to them. Unfortunately for the majority that I can re all (keep in mind this is a tiny number), I believe it negatively affected their chances but I’d have to go digging to find the actual comments.

With EAS UNSW may be possible. I don't see other possibilities for 3050, sorry.
