To answer your question [MENTION=19652]ky678[/MENTION] they should, and they defiantly try to. However, judging from last years offer's thread, they were really patchy with it. Some got emails notifying them they were on the waiting list, other didn't etc. If you want to know for absolute sure, rather that waiting for a letter that may not come, I recommend calling/emailing the admin.


This may have changed with the new system, but we all know how well its working so far. :P

And @lucyg this might not help with your question, but I got an email today from admissions saying that they hoped to release the outcome of our applications before Christmas break. Because they didn't mention already sendng out emails to applicants, so I'm assuming that they haven't started releasing them yet.
 
Also, there a few very high UMAT applicants on this thread waiting for a response...I'm sure they'll post when they get an offer!

Sorry for the misunderstanding!

I must have said it wrong, it wasn't from a public email. I just emailed them about an issue I had with uploading documents the other day so when they replied about it they just added that part at the end.

The offers are coming out on a Sunday?? And there I was cursing myself for masochistically checking this thread at the weekend!

I think they drip-feed the offers out right up til Feb (based on previous years). So best of luck to those still waiting.

Congratulations [MENTION=20481]lucyg[/MENTION] and [MENTION=20805]malobars[/MENTION] ! I definitely recommend setting up a facebook page for year - if you do end up accepting your offers. It helps with a lot of orientation stuff and even accommodation issues. Let me know if you guys have any questions about O-week, med camp, accommodation and so forth! And look forward to a presentation by yours truly during O-week (if you do accept) ;)

To the others good luck and you're definitely not out of the running yet! Keep those fingers crossed - another set of offers will come out start/mid-Jan! If it's anything like last year that is.
 
Thank you everyone! My fingers are crossed for all of you :) I'm going to accept my UTAS offer for now as I'm waiting on UAC offers then I'll decide where to go from there - I'd rather do med close to home but I'll take what I can get at this stage.

ATAR/GPA: Not sure of final GPA (still waiting on some of this semester's marks :rolleyes:) but over the 70% minimum
UMAT: 65/69/58 - 96th%ile

No one else??? So there's only 99th and 96th so far...?

This is agony. Apparently 1st round is rolling through this week. Then early Jan is 2nd round - however as UWS and UNE/UNCLE (?) offers only come out mid jan probably after that more will flow out...

What about UNSW? That's the only other non-standard uni...
 
As far as I know UNSW comes out with UAC as well - 21st Jan.

All I can think is the competition is a lot tougher this year. I was thinking that UTAS simply hadn't given out many offers in this first round compared to previous years, but I called and was told that's not the case. I personally wasn't even expecting a first round offer...but I was expecting people with 94-95% to get one at least. Crazy!

I also don't understand how more places will be freed up before UAC/QTAC/VTAC comes out...surely not many non-standards would reject a UTAS medicine offer without having received another interstate offer first?
