JPM WSU/CSU JPM: Questions and Discussion

Hi there, I have completed a semester of physiotherapy and received a GPA for that semester but then discontinued, will I still include this in my UAC application in tertiary studies? My atar from last year is above the threshold.

If I did not mention the semester I studied in university this year even though I discontinued the program afterwards would that void my UAC application?
You’ll need to put this on your UAC application but it won’t be used and it won’t detrimentally impact your eligibility.

Hi there, does anyone know if WSU offers any pathways into med such as the biomed to medicine at UTAS or health sciences to Med at ANU?
No there isn't a WSU internal pathway that we know of.
You can enrol in WSU 1st year then apply nonstandard, but it's open to external students as well.

Hey guys, if i wanted to study at either csu or wsu would I be considered for both because on UAC its like this. There is no direct application right?
That question does sound misleading like you're choosing either WSU or CSU.

My understanding is since it's a joint program you're applying to both and the question is only to state your preference. When they go from top down to allocate offers, if by your turn WSU has no more places you get CSU if CSU still has vacancies.

hi, i sat my ucat in july and i was pretty dissapointed w my score (2760) but i had very good VR (760)
my WSU score using the formula (0.58 VR + 0.12 DM + 0.12 QR + 0.18 AR) is a 710
i am GWS, no EAS
what would the odds be of getting an interview- will my bad percentile drag it own or will it jus be done fully on weighted score?

The percentile essentially reflects the unweighted 4-section score. Since WSU uses weighted no point they also look at (unweighted) percentile.

710 GWS is so borderline we'll have to wait & see.

hey guys for my ucat i got 83% (2880) and my verbal reasoning score was 720. i think my wsu score is 715? (not sure... my decision making was 710, qr 800 and abstract 650). i am a gws applicant so i was wondering if theres any chance of me getting an interview offer this yr for wsu?

715 is borderline for GWS, have to wait & see. I think it's only 2-3 more weeks we'll know.

they look at non-weighted?

Edit: nvm I miss read it

what are the odds of getting wsu interview with a score of 728 wsu score? (gws). does preference order matter for wsu ?
UAC preference order does not matter for WSU. Neither should WSU/CSU preference.

728 looks optimistic (but not enough to be certain) for WSU-GWS. Wait 2-3 more weeks we'll know the outcome.

Brace yourself for the shocks : non-GWS NSW around 770, interstate 810.
(Note the weighted 810 is equivalent to unweighted 810/810/810/810 = 3240 = 98%ile).
woah, what about for gws?

A1 replies: Last year GWS cutoff was weighted 710, equivalent to unweighted 710 x 4 = 2840 = 82%ile.
Hopefully it won't go more than 720-730 this year.
(Btw the unweighted equivalent means if you score 710/710/710/710 your section average is 710 whether unweighted or WSU weighted).

Hi, I've completed high school and HSC in NSW (non GWS), currently doing degree in Queensland. wondering my application is NSW or interstate?

Hey everyone! Congrats to all who got an interview for JMP JPM this morning! I'm planning on making a discord chat with all interviewees so that we can do WSU focused prep. If you're interested in being a part of it please PM me or reply to this message!

Congrats to everyone with an interview invite! Just wondering whether all invites are released at once (i.e. if I don't get an email now, should I remove it from my UAC to make space for other courses)?

(Edited by mod to state interviews not offers)
