Oh, in 2009 the PHSI terms test marks were released as a pdf with all ID nos. and marks. Someone used that to work out the mark distribution and posted it on MSO. Next day, everyone gets an email from the physics department - "we would like to remind you that posting details of blackboard documents such as the test marks online is against university policy. The document was provided for your individual benefit only".

Coincidence?

For the BSc in BioMed and entry into professional degrees like Optom what would be the UMAT thresholds which need to be passed? Namely the ones like Optom, Pharmacy and all the other professional courses? (I've just emailed them hahah but I'll have to wait till tomorrow)

I'd like to give all of them a try since if I go to AU I wouldn't be too sure what to do anyway.
(I haven't really researched much into AU since for the past year or so I was adamant I was going to study at Otago :( )

Hey crucible 1317 as an applicant for both the BPharm and BOptom programmes in Auckland, for BOptom all that matters is your overall GPA no other secondary assessment procedures are required. For BPharm you can gain direct entry as a school leaver or as an alternative admissions candidate after doing one year of BSc Biomed with a minimum average GPA of 5 which is a B average. For the school leavers category the academic level of achievement you need is a minimum of 220 credits over 5 subjects with 2 of these subjects needing to be NCEA Level 3 Biology and Chemistry. Furthermore you need to do an interview as well which is held around early january for school leaver applicants as yourself if you desire to apply for the BPharm programme as a school leaver. If you are an alternative admissions candidate then it's around early december. I had mine on the 8th December. The same date as my medical school interview. From what I know of in Auckland, UMAT is required for entry into medical school and nothing else.

So in-depth hahah
 I never applied for BPharm as a school leaver because I was 100% sure I was going to Otago for HSFY until now D: (serves me right for doing that LOL)........Oh dear. UMAT....lol.....but at least Optom doesn't need UMAT! :P
Is the AU UMAT score higher the 50-50-50 for each section?- just wondering because if it is that would make my try harder and hopefully it'll be enough to be able to transfer.

BPharm at AU does not need UMAT either. Auckland does not have strict guidelines as to how the individual sections of the UMAT is weighted as for HSFY in Otago. UMAT counts for 15% of the overall score needed to get into med in auckland with 60% GPA and 25% Interview. However from what I've heard from the med talks which happens every year in October, the UMAT does not have as significant role to play as it does in Otago. So I can't really give any concrete weighted score and percentiles that you would have to achieve in each individual section and overall for Auckland. GPA and Interview are more significant assessment tools than the UMAT in med entry into Auckland while those two are the only ones for BPharm as an alternative admissions candidate in Auckland. ^_^

*Feels your pain*, I drove home from work like a freaking maniac when ours came out :p

That's quite funny I was the opposite, I was at home when offers came out, didn't check them and went shopping for about 3 hours to avoid having to check!

Wicked. Thanks for the info- this makes everything seem less like I'm about to stumble into a giant black hole.
Awww, either way UMAT matters even in the smallest amount I suppose so I should prepare for that when Uni time rolls around. *optimism* lolll

Thanks man and best wishes to everyone whose offers come out today possibly in the afternoon.

Goodluck to you lot for today!I hope everyone on here gets the christmas present they were after =)

They are out for some people. But not for a lot of people I know, including myself.... UGH
