I'm pretty sure they don't have a set number of "auto-in's". It basically happens when they talk to you and are like "this guy/girl is a MUST! They are perfect for being a doctor!", so they give you a 10. Asians can get a 10 just as much as any other race - it's not based on race at all - you get a 10 if you appear to be the perfect candidate, it's as simple as that. They may have 25 people who get it, they may have 1. Don't worry about it - you may be the 1 who they think is perfect ^_^
Haha, thanks for the kind words! I'm not hoping for an auto-in. I'd be happy to get like a 6 or 7 and will be very very happy to get an 8. Hopefully that and an A* in medsci can get me thru to med. Do you know what scores did people get last year in the interview?

Not sure aye... I know some people have emailed the faculty and asked how well they did in the interview even though they got in. Most people I know didn't bother, it's mainly the ones that don't get in emails and asks for their scores...

hey guys, did anyone switch to mbchb on ndeva yet? for some reason, i did it yesterday night and i went thru everything, but it still isnt showing up on my 'application status' section, does it usually take a while or something?

Yeah I've done it. I'm pretty sure it takes a day or two to be processed so don't worry about it

hehehe.. Mine exceeded a bit like ~320 words on each.. Is it okay?? haha:lol:

I guess when they say WORD LIMIT: 300 WORDS it means no more than 300 words

Actually i think if u try to submit more than 300 words ull just get an error message or something

gosh I haven't got much to write about for the second section of MH03 :bored:
How did you guys write like 300 words for them? Brief descriptions of what each are?

I just followed the questions for the second section. In order too lol. Just take some stuff you wrote about your extra-curricular activities and elaborate why it made you want to do medicine/how it shows you should be a doctor. Then have a paragraph about your personal qualities which you think would make you appropriate for medical school, like empathy and such.

Lol I sent my MH03 form in 2 weeks ago

hah yea i sorta followed the order as well, but hey i guess no rush here. Pretty much what hamlock said, try to relate as much as u can to medicine, and try to mention as much stuff as u can, if its irrelavent, try to make it somehow a better doc.

Gd luck with ur phys. results

You don't need to fill in 300 words for that, I didn't. I just made a bullet pointed list of all the things I had done, with a little description of each. I think I filled up like 200 words total. You don't actually get graded onyour MH03s, they are mainy there to help the interviewers think of question. For you, think of the MH03 as an opportunity to help guide the interview into a direction you want to talk about.

For the first question i wrote like 350 words, do you think that's ok. Or does it have to be 300 exactly?
Also do you know if it is ok to type and print it then send it to them. Or does it have to be done online or hand-written if you are sending it?
Thanks

I don't think there is a strict limit as such. But do try to keep it under 300 words just in case. Keep it concise and to the point.

Regarding how you hand it in... I don't think they are that worried as long as you hand it in on time (before 1st November), and if you are posting, make sure they have received it. I did mine purely online last year though coz it was much easier.

I would type it. I wouldn't risk the interviewer having to contend with your handwriting (not that I'm saying your handwriting would be bad...). Its just I don't think interviewers spend too much time reading your MH03 before hand, so you want everything to be really accessible to them, when they pick it up and have a look just before your interview starts. I think 350 should be fine, they won't count words or anything. I reckon they put 300 just to stop someone sending in like a 1000 words, because otherwise, they would haha. The most important thing is that your MH03 is readable, get someone else to read over it first. I found that helped, because I tend to understand my own long comma-filled sentences, but apparently no-one else does.

[OFFTOPIC]Man I love making comma-decorated sentences
Pity this isn't the moment where 'Well, deal with it' applies [/OFFTOPIC]

whats takin the physics department so dam long to correct our tests, ive been dying to know how i did, coz i either screwed up real bad or aced it to hell. UGHH

Well, at least the physics labs went well, the demonstrators were cool, especially Sarah and James. On a similar note, the biosci 106 demonstrators i got were straight down awesome, they were so helpful, honestly without them i probably would have failed the labs miserably; except for this one girl called Sarah, blonde one, she has honestly got to be the most useless person ive seen yet hired by the university. no matter what you'd ask her, she'd just go like 'Ahm,, well,, HEY ANDREW! *Andrew comes along*, say what exactly do you do at this part?' then Andrew would answer and she'd just repeat what he says ...

[offtopic]at least she was kinda hot :D[/offtopic]
