Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Nope, this is not the case at all. specialty registrar positions are based off references and experiences as a junior doctor. Most colleges publish their CV marking requirements if you want to confirm this yourself

e.g. this is the RACS CV for Plastics and Reconstructive (first google result for “racs cv points”)
Good to know. So therefore going to Bond wouldn’t directly affect this process as it depends on your performance as a junior doctor right?

If you have a read at the document you can see the that they pretty much assess based on experience, publications, references, and professional development.

I can see how going to a research intensive university may open a door or two for research, although as someone who’s never chased research i can’t really comment on how much of a change it would make. My bets are nil

(eta: also, research makes only a minor portion of that cv, so even if there was a benefit to it, it wouldn’t be much)

Are Bond med students are looked down on by other med students due to the stigma against FFP?

Given that every other med student you will be likely interacting with is also a FFP student i say not to worry about it. By the time you graduate and start working with other doctors/former medical students no one will care

Are other unis favoured over Bond for getting internship? I heard that CSP is prioritised over FFP but I'm not sure if that only means international student FFP

They are both prioritised the same

CSPs are guarenteed internships
FFPs are not

Although they are both prioritised above international students which regularly get internships, and we believe that Bond has an agreement with QLD Health to guarantee internships.

On the guarantee front - only CSPs.
But as things *currently* are with internship-allocation priorities, all State govs give domestic instate graduates priority 1 without mentioning a differentiation between CSP and FFP.

It'd be interesting to see when a state provides just enough internships for CSPs, meaning some domestic instate FFPs would miss out even though on same priority 1. But that has not happened for us to see yet.

yes, it's my current GPA after completed 1 full-time study, however, I want only my GPA to be considered as my atar was not high enough which I believe has to be one and a half years does that mean I can only apply after 2 years of my bachelor as I cant apply mid year ?
Does Bond consider university applicants with only 1 year FTE of study? (GPA: 6.5)? If so, is there a good chance for invitation to testing?

So if I have completed 2 years of university, my atar (in my year it was OP) will not be included and will use my GPA instead?

Correct if this was full time study. Bond has a nice summary table on their website which shows what criteria they use in relation to how much tertiary study you've completed.

How much time should we prepare for the interview? Like how much prep did people do in the past? (Approx)
I'm a current 2nd year at Bond! I only started preparing the day after my psychometric test. I did minimal prep (1 hour a day with friends/family) with questions I anticipated to be asked. However after I received my offer for the interview I tried doing at least 3 mock interviews a day along with writing up main dot-points I would use to answer questions and speaking them out loud in front of a mirror :)

Please PM me if you have any other questions !!

Hey yall, I got a 97.35 as my ATAR

whoops didn't finish, I'm from QLD, is this hopefully enough to get a psychometric test invite from Bond? generally?

In previous years ppl with 96.5+ got the invite for the test, so you should be good to go. But this year everything is changing and cut offs and dramatically increasing for all uni's so i wouldn't say anything is guaranteed.

if I did 1 semester of a health science degree then transferred and did 1.5 years of a science degree, how is my gpa calculated? Also I go to a uni where my gpa is /4 (Monash uni), wondering how gpa is calculated
Thanks
