Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Hi.
I'm sorry if this was already answered but I just finished first year of university, and so will my GPA (uni marks) or ATAR be used for a psychometric test invite?

How will they use both?

Also, I saw on Bond's medical program website that there are prerequsities to fulfill, namely achieving certain scores in english subjects and we have to provide documentation showing that. I completed my VCE and those subjects in 2020 and so do I need to provide documentation on this or does QTAC have it? If so, how do I do that? I'm not sure how to upload my VCE results onto QTAC?

QTAC will do this for you automatically, they will also convert both scores into a combined selection rank which Bond will use to rank you. The selection rank depends on your GPA and your ATAR

From my understanding, which may be wrong, so please double check with QTAC first!
if u put bond uni as ur first preference now a message will come up that says since ur preferences are not in order of offer round, u won't be considered for some preferences. When this happened to me last year they told me that I wasnt considered at all for Jcu because it was preference under Bond which has a different later offer round.

oh no so that means i have to choose between hoping for a JCU second round offer or applying to Bond at all?? i'll call QTAC tomorrow and confirm but this really puts me in a bad place bc Bond was my backup if I didn't get JCU at all.

I just called through so if you want to be considered for both then you put Jcu as ur first preference and bond just has to be somewhere in your QTAC list by the 27th January. Then you just have to switch bond to be your first preference by the 2nd February but preferably a bit before that to be safe.

Hi guys! Bit of a long post coming in, I just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience to me when applying for Bond! I’m a graduate student, who has completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) in 2020 (first class). In 2021 I began studying a masters degree in clinical psychology, where I have achieved a GPA of 6.14 in my first year. I spoke with QTAC today to ask about my calculated selection rank and they told me that they would use my completed bachelors + embedded honours in addition to my current masters degree to calculate my selection rank (which was all good and well!). However, they proceeded to tell me that they would use my previous incomplete studies as well. For context prior to completing my B Psych (Hons) I chopped and changed degrees 3 times (Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), then finally B Psych (Hons). Given that these degree changes occurred prior to me completing my undergraduate studies, I was under the impression it wouldn’t count towards my overall selection rank (as I’ve now completed a degree) and the only subsequent study which should count is my masters marks - based upon Bonds entry assessment table).
Long story short, has anyone had this happen to them before? This happened last year and I don’t want to miss out again. I’ve spoken to QTAC about it but can’t get a straight answer. Sorry for such a long/potentially irrelevant post!

Hi.
On QTAC, can we put both the May and September intake in our preference list? E.g 1st pref May and 2nd pref September? Or would this disadvantage me, as opposed to just putting 1 preference - 1st pref May intake, in getting the September intake rather than the May intake as I have put 2 options down?
Hope this makes sense!

Thank you.

You can put both and it would help you, however only put both if your comfortable with enrolling in either cohort

Was it bind you called or qtac themselves? Im in the same situation and im not sure what to do because im worried that ill lose my spot at bond if i leave jcu first preference

Hi.
On QTAC in my Bond preference, next to entry requirements, when you click on 'more information', it says 'yes' for no prior tertiary study. However, I finished my first year of uni last year. Does anyone whose in uni, applying for the undergrad Bond Med course, also have this issue?

Thank you.

Hi, I have this on my application as well. Have you completed any other tertiary study before you started the degree you are currently in? if not, the 'yes' for no prior tertiary study is accurate
Cool, thank you! Just confirmed with them as well.

I called bond uni. Here is where I also found it on there website under Medical Program frequently asked questions under QTAC related:

"E2. When applying to Bond Medicine through QTAC, should I put it above or below the course I was selected for?
Please put Bond University as your number 1 selection by 2 February, 2022. You will also need to make sure you respond correctly to any offers you may have received from other institutions. QTAC can advise on this."

I was worried too but I think they start assessing on the 2nd feb so hopefully should be fine

Hi.
I put May 1st pref and September intake 2nd preference. Under 'prior tertiary study' for May, it says satisfied but for the September preference, it says assessment has not commenced. I was wondering if this was the same for other people?
