Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Although we say trimester Bond calls them semester and fits three into a year, so yes a 3-semester Bond year = 1.5 years at other unis.

Bachelor of Biomedical Science : Bachelor Biomed 6 semesters 2 years
Bachelor of Laws : Bachelor Law 8 semesters 2 years 8 months (4 years other unis).

It's the same for Bond Med, Bond says its 14 semesters is equivalent to 7 years elsewhere.
does that mean if i apply next year in Jan as an undergraduate they will only consider my GPA? or is it different because Bond has a different full time student equivalence.

Logically speaking if you complete Bond's 3 semesters in first year you should be 1.5 FTE for only GPA considered. But give Bond Med a call to double check (and argue so if necessary).

Has anyone received an interview invite twice (using the same psychometric test score)?

I received an interview this year but no offer. I want to apply again next year and my psychometric test score will be reused but am not sure if I will receive an interview offer next year or not?

We are in the same boat. Had interview but no offer. I am a school leaver. What about you? I am wondering if Bond prefers non standard students or post graduate students .

It's a decent chance that you would receive an interview invite, but you would still have to meet the academic threshold, which you can find on their website, depending on how many FTE of university you would have completed by the next round of applications. But it isn't definite though as potentially, next year's group of students who complete their psychometric test may raise the barrier towards progressing to the interview stage. Honestly, I would just focus on maintaining a strong GPA for the other non-standard unis (JMP, JPM, UNSW, JCU) and also perform as strongly as possible in the UCAT, as these components are in your control while your psychometric test performance this year isn't, with regards to being successful next year.

They don't prefer any type of applicant, but rather, have a select pool for graduate students. I believe it's 20% out of the 180 total offers or so, so around 36. But I've heard this number is sometimes higher, around 25-30%.

I am still waiting for Bond offer. Now near April , any chance?haha
I’d imagine your best Bond Med bet now would be to hope for a top-up offer for the September intake when there might be a few students who ultimately realise Bond is not financially (or otherwise) feasible for them.

I should add that offers for the September intake were made on the same day and time as the May intake (18th March), as I was given an offer for the September cohort myself. I think at this stage, it seems very unlikely for further offers to be made as the date to accept offers has already lapsed and a few second round offers were made from my understanding.

Yeah, I realise offers already came out. But the reality come September might hit for some people. Do Bond make September students pay up now (hopefully not!)?

Well, I'd assume most people (myself included) would have put the tuition fees for the upcoming first semester on Fee-Help, which I think covers students for close to 2 years of the program (so the Medical Studies degree).

Yeah, I understand this too, however my point still stands. Financially, some people decide they actually can’t commit to the full fee paying option but the reality of this isn’t fully realised until it comes time to sign on the dotted line. It’s not uncommon for us to hear of MSO members who receive offers but then reject them on this basis. So if September intake students have not yet had to ‘sign on the bottom line’, then it’s possible this could still be the case. But if they make you commit financially now, that’s less likely (and the point I was trying to understand).
