Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Yeah, I understand this too, however my point still stands. Financially, some people decide they actually can’t commit to the full fee paying option but the reality of this isn’t fully realised until it comes time to sign on the dotted line. It’s not uncommon for us to hear of MSO members who receive offers but then reject them on this basis. So if September intake students have not yet had to ‘sign on the bottom line’, then it’s possible this could still be the case. But if they make you commit financially now, that’s less likely (and the point I was trying to understand).
This is true, I know of a few people who discontinued the degree due to the cost as you mentioned. However, these people were simultaneously doing UCAT or GAMSAT while they were at Bond and only discontinued their degree when they received an offer to another university

Yeah, this has been a relatively common phenomenon. For those considering it into the future, just beware that most non-standard unis (and I’m not sure about GEMSAS unis) now rule you ineligible to apply if you’ve started an Australian Med degree at another uni. If you’ve deferred an offer, that’s okay, but if you’ve completed some, you’re ineligible. So always double check the uni you’re hoping to apply to before relying on this pathway.

Hi guys I know its a bit late, im in the september cohort and was sussing if I could swap with anyone for the may intake or if thats even possible.

Hey, just to let you know, I'm also going to be starting in September, and from what some people have said, the date for trying to swap has finished (but don't take my word on it) and I believe if you are trying to swap, you would need to have special considerations as it makes sense for Bond to give out 2nd round offers as a higher priority then swap current students who were given an offer, if that makes sense.

what was bond medicines minimum atar for 2022 intake? what would be a good atar to aim for?
From memory, it was around 96.8 (or just under 97). But in saying that, you'd obviously want to aim for higher to maximise your chances as much as possible for the other universities possible.

Just wondering from the last few years whether people starting in September are able to find on-campus accommodation easily, or if all the options are taken up by the May students as well as current students?

Some May students this year even haven't been able to get on-campus accommodation so definitely prepare for that possibility. However, I'd expect that more spots for accommodation open up each semester (some people won't continue their courses etc).

For the September cohort, has anyone made a fb chat yet? Also has anyone started the compliance stuff for September?

Will Bond send us an email about compliance documents and things we need to complete closer to orientation date in September?

You can download compliance handbook from Bond web, or by search in google. As my understanding, you need to start doing compliance work immediately. My friend has already done for SEP Cohort

Ok thanks. Also for the September intake, were we meant to have received a student charter to sign after we accepted? It said the electronically signed charter was due in May in the offer letter way back in March but I don’t think I’ve gotten anything to sign?

hi can someone (based on the 2022 applications ) tell me what a comfortable ATAR requirement for a bond psychometric test offer is. I understand the lowest was 96.8 but what would be the lowest possible ATAR where you're in a good position be offered an invite?

Not sure I understand your question correctly :)

Before the use of the psych test Bond selected around 200 interviewees based on ATAR. The cutoff was typically low 97s.
With the psych test Bond invites twice this number (to then interview the top half) so the cutoff drops to 96.x. If you're asking safe ATAR to get a psych invite I'd say 97+.

If you're asking safe ATAR to get an interview invite then it's not relevant. Doesn't matter what ATAR you need to be in the top half of the psych tests.

ok thanks, this really helped

Since the bond medical program starts pretty late into the year (May), if I'm a high school leaver could I start a different undergraduate degree and if I get an offer, accept it and transfer into the bond program?
