Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Since the bond medical program starts pretty late into the year (May), if I'm a high school leaver could I start a different undergraduate degree and if I get an offer, accept it and transfer into the bond program?
You can do but it wouldn't be a transfer. Basically you quit one course and start another. I checked the 2021 offers thread Bond offers came out on 12-March. Most non-Bond undergrad courses have end of March census date meaning you have 1-2 weeks to decide to do Bond or not. If yes you withdraw from that course without incurring its HECS fees or academic penalty.

That makes sense thank you!

For the people who are doing their compliance for September, has anyone done the National Hand Hygiene module yet? Did you guys put the employee number and student number for the registration part? I'm a bit confused because the instructions from the compliance handbook never said anything about employee and student numbers for the Hand Hygiene module??

How does FEE-HELP work, I'm a bit confused. Does it mean that I can pay off my tuition after completing my course, and my parents do not have to pay it upfront? Also, I've heard of certain grants that cut the cost of the course to something like 250K in total, does this actually exist? If so, how do you apply/ what are eligibility requirements?

FEE-HELP is the equivalent of HECS-HELP for full-fee courses. You request Bond to charge the fees to your FEE-HELP gov loan which you will repay when you start earning an income.

However the killer is FEE-HELP has a max limit of about $150K iirc. Bond's fees being around $400K means you/parents will have to pay ~$250K, on top of the $150K debt.

On their website and previous posts here it says atar requirement is 96+, however is this actually the requirement, or is it like other unis such as UNSW that state 96+ but realistically require 99+. I.e what atars have people actually gotten in with in the past? Thanks!

97.00 was the lowest ATAR we had reported here for 2022 entry that received a psychometric test invite (and it probably went lower than that), so 96+ could well be accurate.

Just 1 question to ask, assuming that you can apply overseas medicine program (eg. Nottingham) and can work there as a doctor, would you prefer studying overseas or studying at bond ? Their fees are similar

Very much depends on where you want to work afterwards. If you want to work in Australia, then Bond. If you want (and are eligible) to work in the UK, then heading over there would be reasonable.

Hi all,
I am a post grad applicant and I have completed a graduate certificate this year to try boost my GPA for bond med.

The certificate I have completed was 8mths of so a full academic year long, and I received 48 credit points for it which is double the amount of credit points compared to other grad certs from what I have read (usually a grad cert is 24 credit points). I was wondering if anyone know if they will take this as my full GPA as I have essentially completed a full year of extra study or if they will still combine it with my Bachelors GPA when considering my application because it is still a certificate.

Is it a graduate diploma? If yes, given that you have completed 1 year FTE, then they won't consider your Bachelor GPA when calculating your rank and will only use the GPA from your diploma

What is the minimum GPA required to get a psychometric interview invite? I am a current NZ student. Also, does A-, A, A+ in NZ automatically equate to a 7 on the Australian GPA scale, specifically for Bond University?

The minimum GPA Bond states is >6/7. The NZ equivalent of this is >B. A safe grade would be a B+ (6.5/7 Aus GPA).

I recommend calling QTAC to double check with them though.

Do you guys recommend getting tutored for the psychometric test? I understand it is an EQ test so u can't really practice for it but I know absolutely nothing about it. If you guys do recommend getting tutored, do you know of anyone who is tutoring?

Just a reminder that paid prep/tutoring discussion is a banned topic as per our forum rules.

I've been looking online for resources but can't seem to find much :(

Does anyone have any resources they could share?
Hi! I've sent you a message, would be happy to share some tips. Also there are a few free emotional intelligence/personality tests you can find online if you just search up free personality test/emotional intelligence test you should find some.

I did the test this year and passed it without tutoring, therefore I would say tutoring is not necessary. I did, however, practice with free online personality and EQ tests (as medchic mentioned as well)

Hey guys,
I recently completed a graduate diploma (Total 8 units, 5 HD's, 3D's) with a GPA of 3.625 (on a 4-point scale) - Does anyone know how I can get a pretty decent estimate of my GPA for Bond and would this be a reasonable enough score to receive a psychometric test offer?
