Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

Hey y'all I have a question. I'm currently going into my 2nd yr at uni in 2023 and I know Bond does 50%/50% on atar and GPA for more than 1 yr fte but less than 2 yrs. My ATAR is 98 which should be okay but my GPA is not ideal (5.8). Does anyone have a rough estimate on whether I have a shot or not?

I would give QTAC a call and see what your combined score comes down to. Maybe even try giving the bond admissions team a call

You would probably be below the minimum as a 5.8 converts to a 91 and your overall score would be 94.5 including your ATAR

For future reference where can I find the GPA to ATAR conversion (I tried to find it online but couldn't)
I often refer to this link, it's from QUT but seems valid for QTAC/Qld unis
> Higher education study

Click on One year full-time shows GPA 5.75-5.99 = 97.5
(The 5.75-5.99 = ATAR 91 is from the 0.75 to 1year FTE but I think it's meant to be 0.75 to 0.99 FTE)

Yes! This is what I thought as well. However I do have a question/concern: because for 1-1.5 fte students have a 50/50 split for GPA and ATAR, for the minimum req do I need to meet both or either? (I.e. I meet minimum req for ATAR but not GPA)

From what I see in Bond webpage

1. The GPA>6 only appears for Graduate applicant whereas you're Undergrad applicant.
2. It says to be competitive, which commonly means not a hard cutoff for eligibility. It's more an advisory that lower is likely to miss psychometric selection, but your case will be on the combined Selection Rank not the GPA. I think you'll be okay.

Hello. A question for those applying in the graduate category, does having completed a Masters degree over just having completed a Bachelors degree provide any extra weight towards being considered for the psychometric test? TIA

If you’ve done post graduate study that’s coursework (not research) this will be counted as your GPA for Bond. Has to be over 1 FTE. if you’ve done more than 1 postgrad degree, they take your most recent. This is on the Bond medicine website just if you wanna read more.

Thankyou for your reply. Do you know if the minimum GPA cut off would be any lower for a postgrad student v an undergrad?

It’s the same (6) but keep in mind that reaching that threshold doesn’t necessarily mean you get an offer for psychometric testing, depends how competitive the graduate pool is

Hi Everyone, applying as a non-standard/undergraduate (non-complete degree). Would anyone know what the lowest GPA was to get a psychometric invite using purely the GPA (at least 2 years completed).

I have a GPA of 5.5 - would it be worth applying?

Thanks!

I assume it would still have to be 6 as a minimum? Because your atar isnt used in this case. Keep in mind the way QTAC calculates your gpa might be different to how your uni calculates it so might be better off ringing QTAC about it.

Hi! I've sent you a message, would be happy to share some tips. Also there are a few free emotional intelligence/personality tests you can find online if you just search up free personality test/emotional intelligence test you should find some.
Hi Medchic
Would also love some tips please.

Hi, does anybody know how long the psychometric test is valid for? I sat it last year and got to the interview stage (didn't attend the interview tho). I'm re-applying this year, will I be expected to sit the test again or is it valid for 2 years?

Also with applying, do we just add our preferences to QTAC and that is all?

I believe the Bond University website said that if you did it previously, after September 2021, then they would use that score. You'll get an email saying you're invited to the testing but you don't have to sit it.
