Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

I did the test this year and passed it without tutoring, therefore I would say tutoring is not necessary. I did, however, practice with free online personality and EQ tests (as medchic mentioned as well)
Hi! I've sent you a message, would be happy to share some tips. Also there are a few free emotional intelligence/personality tests you can find online if you just search up free personality test/emotional intelligence test you should find some.
I would also love it if you could shoot me a message to share some of your tips :D

Hey guys,
I recently completed a graduate diploma (Total 8 units, 5 HD's, 3D's) with a GPA of 3.625 (on a 4-point scale) - Does anyone know how I can get a pretty decent estimate of my GPA for Bond and would this be a reasonable enough score to receive a psychometric test offer?
5 x 7 (HD) = 35
3 x 6 (D) = 18
35 + 18 = 53
53 / 8 = 6.625 on a 7 point scale

And yes, that’ll get you an invite assuming Bond accept standalone grad dip GPAs and don’t add other years of tertiary study into the equation. If they do count more years, you can calculate your 7 point scale GPA by doing the same as I’ve done above but including those extra years.

Does it matter if I didn't complete my grad dip at Bond? I say this as some Unis differ in what they consider a 'HD' (Some 80+ and others 85+).

My understanding is that the GPA is assessed in accordance with Bonds definition of a HD, which is 85-100. A D is 75-84.

I was reading earlier posts and someone mentioned that: "QTAC ignore the percentage marks and use the grade letters on transcripts only." So for example, a UniMelb 80/HD will get the same 7 GPA as a Bond 87/HD, however a Bond 80/D only receives a 6 GPA. Can anyone confirm this? :)

In this case, I recommend calling QTAC. They will be able to provide you with a direct and definite answer.

Is this psych test going to be in person or done online?

On their website and previous posts here it says atar requirement is 96+, however is this actually the requirement, or is it like other unis such as UNSW that state 96+ but realistically require 99+. I.e what atars have people actually gotten in with in the past? Thanks!
There’s a thread on this site where successful applicants post their atar scores

Hi, I'm currently a uni student (going into 2nd year in 2023). I was looking at the key dates for Bond Med and saw that offers are released on 17th of March. However, the census date for my uni (UNSW) is 12th of March (the last date when I can apply for program discontinuation). Does any one know how we're supposed to drop our current course in this scenario (supposing we get an offer from Bond)?

You don’t believe you can, unfortunately. If you were happy/confident in your interview performance you may choose to ‘risk it’ and withdraw before receiving an offer, otherwise you’ll need to commit to paying the fees of your current units (and potentially have them recorded on your transcript as failed if it’s also past the academic penalty point).

Ah I see, thank you. The academic penalty date is later so I would only incur a financial penalty which I am ok with. However, would taking program leave for first term (decided before the census date) and then completely withdrawing from the degree the next term (after knowing the offer outcome) be an option? Or perhaps preferencing the September intake? In this case, if I 'accept' my offer in March (for Sept), am I allowed to keep studying at least 1 term of my current degree?

Anyways I am just exploring options - I am likely to keep applying to schools like JMP/JPM/UNSW for at least 2 more years so I would probably only commit to Bond as a graduate applicant (by then, this shouldn't be an issue) :)

Hi folks.
I am considering the bond medicine option if my kid don't get any offer from the CSP from Medicine/Dentistry. Given it's the private uni, does it generally provide better facilities and staff than (say mid-lower reputable uni in Australia)?
Is there any issue to find an internship because the student graduated the Bond medicine?
My perception is the industry may underrate the Bond graduates who has got tons of money but not intelligent as other CSP graduates.
My kid got an offer from Melbourne Uni the 7 years course which guarantees (full fee paying) as long as my kid can retain 75% WAM for the first 3 years and passes the interview. It costs around 350K for 4 years.

Technically Bond graduates are not guaranteed an internship by the state government, but in practice all have got one because
1. The Qld internship allocation system makes no distinction i.e. Bond FFP graduates are the same Category 1 as other Qld CSP graduates
2. Apparently Bond uni contributes to the salaries of the Bond interns (I think a Bond lecturer has said so in class).

There may be a prejudice by the uninformed public, I don't think it exists much in the workforce. After all Bond graduates have completed an AMC-accredited course and arguably their admission credentials are higher than many rural CSP students (and I dare anyone to claim rural students are less intelligent).

Did you get an answer to this by any chance?

Bond Doctors are definitely not seen as inferior. At the end of the day it comes down to how good the student/doctor is, not what uni they studied at

Thanks for your explanation.
We're from NSW, so does my kid have a chance to get an internship in QLD?
