Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

If it helps, I had a GPA of 6.625 (Calculated by QTAC) and was offered a psychometric test earlier this year (feb). A friend of mine who was also offered a psychometric test this application cycle had a GPA of 6.49.
Nice! How did you guys go for the psychometric test?

I unfortunately don't think I did too well as I didn't get an invite earlier in the year, but my friend did well and got an interview offer and an eventual place offer.
Sorry to hear that ! Still awesome that you've done so well with you GPA, definitely not easy. Are you considering/doing the GAMSAT?

Is the interview in person? Do you know if they make exceptions for candidates not residing in QLD?

Thanks! I am now a GAMSAT veteran (sat 4 times) - lucky enough to get a decent score that will hopefully land me an interview next application cycle. Good luck :-)

Yes interviews are in person - as far as I was aware no exceptions were made and all interstate applications are required to travel to QLD (I'm from melbourne)

Hello, My daughter got 96 Atar. What are the chances to get in to the bond med? Anyone got it with 96??
It will be touch and go. The actual ATAR requirement can change very slightly each year depending on the number of people who apply. Generally, 96.0 is the lowest to be competitive for a psychometric test invite, so she’ll have to hope there’s not too much movement in the requirements. Won’t be able to guarantee anything, she’ll have to wait until testing invites go out and would be advised to have a definite back up plan.

Hi guys, does anyone know how NZ GPA's are converted into AUS GPA's of 7 point scale? Just a bit confused here and QTAC wouldn't give me an conversion either!

For QTAC:
A+ & A = 7
A- & B+ = 6
B & B- = 5
C+ to C- = 4

For GEMSAS GPA see in the Gemsas Guide.

Thanks for this! I thought it might have been like this? Do they not use this conversion scale?
A+/A/A- = 7.0 B+ = 6.5 B = 6.0 B- = 5.5 C+ = 5.0 C = 4.5 C- = 4.0?

This conversion scale^ is GEMSAS for graduate entry, who uses 80+ = 7 and steps of 0.5 grade point.

QTAC for undergrad uses 85+ = 7 and 1.0 grade-point step, thus no 5.5 or 6.5.

Oh, I see! Would a GPA (out of 7) of 6 (or slightly above) receive a psychometric test invite for BOND? Considering if I were a non-standard applicant? ATAR is also around 96 ish?

Iirc it has come down to 5.8ish so 6+ should be fine.
But if you've done less than 1.5 FTE it's 50/50 GPA+ATAR, might get dragged down to borderline by the 96ish.

Also beware being from NZ you're not eligible for a HECS loan, will have to find the $500k upfront over the 4.7 years.

Ah yes, thank you so much! Will be crossing my fingers then 😊
