Bond Bond Medicine: General Discussion

There has been no update regarding how examinations will proceed, however, be assured the majority of 1st year teachings can be completed online (regardless of how expensive and demanding this course is 😓). Please be understanding given the current environment - most universities will be following this model.

How's everyone going with compliance?
I haven't done my first aid and CPR training yet and I don't think I can go and do the course anymore because of the social distancing, isolation and restrictions - is this going to be a problem?

Nope, I called and they said they'll call back but haven't yet - it's been 2 days.
please do not be alarmed, they issued current students a message explaining that first aid and CPR are not an immediate priority (as you can imagine placements and practicals are a while away given the situation). They just want to ensure you have a current blue card and police check 😊

hi all,
This is regarding compliance
was wondering if anyone else had trouble accessing/finding this course "First Response Evacuation Instructions" in QLD Health iLearn Training. I just can't find it anywhere on the website.
Is it just me or is everyone having trouble finding it?

Thanks.

Yeah, I couldn't find it either and so it is still incomplete for me. Has anyone else been able to find it?

I had some trouble with it too, you can't seem to access it by clicking the "enrol in student courses" on the homepage. But if you manually search for it there's a course called "Building Emergency Procedures (First-response evacuation instructions)" which I think is the same course. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Oh okay, I got it! Thanks!

Has everyone completed their first aid training?

Internship? When push comes to shove the Full Fee Place students (inc Bond) are not guaranteed internships by the COAG and might miss out on one. However this is unlikely.

Specialisation? No

How unlikely is it? Is it a big risk paying all that money and in the end not getting an internship?

It is a very unlikely occurrence, I personally wouldn’t be worried about it but you should be aware of it.

there was 770 Internships on offer in QLD
Available intern positions | Queensland Health, and from med deans data there were 724 graduates this year leaving some room for international graduates of QLD unis to fill the gap.

super surreal right now but I just got emailed an offer for Bond's September intake this morning 🙂

Woohoo! 🎉🎉

Suprised they’re giving them out this late but good job!

I also got a September offer :) I am probably going to accept it but I'm just having last-minute thoughts. The money isn't an issue and I think I would enjoy being there but the only problem is I am just worried about specialisation. I have read that going to Bond has absolutely no effect on specialising in but I was just wanting to confirm this if possible.
