Hi guys... haven't really been following this thread but figured I'd hit the right audience, I've had a few pms so I thought I'd address you all at the same time.

The year I applied for JCU (2007) I was given these questions. Keep in mind that its 20 minute interview, they won't ask them all, they don't have time. However I'd say if you could answer the questions below, you'd be well prepared for the interview. Obviously they were out of date when I got them and even more so now... (particulary the current issues, being not so current anymore). However I still reckon they're good practice

wowwww, thanks a million season! unfortunately i dont have an interview ....yet- someone got one today so still hoping to get one :)
 
I wonder how the Jan offer interviews work?

Abbey maybe we have a chance in Jan?There are two sets of dates...Dec and jan...and two sets of letters sent....anyone know?:unsure:
 
I got my offer in the mail today! After I rang up a couple days ago I thought I had lost all my chances and had only a slight chance for the January interviews. Needless to say I was quite surprised this noon. (yy)

Now I'm freaking out because my interview is on 3 Dec meaning I have less than two weeks to prepare. While I have some idea on how to answer the usual questions due to writing applications, this notion is still quite vague!

The interview is also 45 minutes!! I mean WOAH. Crap, they could ask a load of questions and that's plenty of time to screw up. Or, positively, that's also enough time to hopefully make a good impression on them.

*ETA* It doesn't actually say 45 minutes, I misread that part on the letter. So it must be 20 minutes as Season said.

hey i was just wondering for the debate section..approx how long is this section and do they expect you to just stick to one view point and defend it? sorry ive never had a debating experience yet and this is the only thing im a bit freaked out on! thanks!

Religion and ethics aren't a problem but politics- nope. What kind of things in politics would be good to know about other than the points that were provided in the very helpful list (thank you Season!! ^_^).

I just got an interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The letter was posted express(19th) and I only just got it...and have to fax back today to confirm!!!

congrats beach wave! i just rang JCU today and unfortunately i dnt think i will get one because the lady said they were posted out on the 17th! and my address is close to townsville so mine should not take this long!

From memory (and its quite hazy), they just listed the topics and asked me to talk about it. They did add one or two rebuttals, but I remember thinking they were quite weak.

I strongly suggest you dig up JCU threads from past years, I think they may be of more use then I.
