CSU CSU Dentistry: Q&A and General Discussion

Yeah I would not recommend unless the person is very experienced. I am talking about years of experience for those reading this.

And I am sorry to say, being a DA, under most circumstances, is generally not enough to be sufficient.

Well I'm not Hutch or Muse, but they've already said that dentistry jargon won't offer you an advantage.. so I'm not sure why you're asking for their opinions on the subject matter when they've already offered it...? *confused*
Well you didn't have to read it verbatim. What I meant was for those who have BEEN there in the interview process. It is better to be safe than sorry because when you're stuck on something like this and are not sure it could affect your performance. I'm sorry if I was being unreasonable but that's something I still needed to get my head around :/

Alright guys, I'm sure mighty didn't mean to offend.
But I hope we have answered your queries NeoNM!

Good luck!

Yup, as Muse said, apologies if I came across a tad harsh, it wasn't meant that way ^_^. Fingers crossed for the both of us. :)

I was just wondering if Charles sturt uni has a dental students committee, or an annual event that students participate in? Fundraising?

Yes, I am pretty sure they have a dental students committee!

EDIT: I moved your question here!

I was just wondering if Charles sturt uni has a dental students committee, or an annual event that students participate in? Fundraising?

Yup :) We have CSUSDA - Charles Sturt University Student Dental Association. We have many annual events during the year such as the Commencement Ball, Roland Bryant Cup, Bar Nights, Vampire Cup, Woodstock, Touch Game Competitions, Fundraisers and much more :) We make jumpers and year books and raise money to fund different events during the year.

I was just wondering, if there is a dental student committee at CSU or any other annual event that many students participated in? Thanks in advance!

Hi Ally68, I have moved your question here again, as this is more of a Q&A thread. The answer to both your questions is a bit further up this page ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Good luck!

hi, I'm also new to mso.
Does anyone know what the format of the interview will be like/ was like last year?
Will questions be posed by a single interviewee, a panel or will it be in the format of a Multistation Mini Interview (MMI)?
Any help would be really really appreciated.

More than one interviewer (a panel). Not an MMI.

Should take 15-20 minutes. Questions they might asked can be found around MSO (any interview question thread). Have a look!

And....welcome to MSO!

Hi, I'm new to the thread:)
Got an interview at CSU - so really excited and nervous! but i have a few questions (sorry if they've already been asked but i looked around and i cant actually find these questions on the csu page) concerning interview etiquette?
Actually its not the etiquette duringthe interview, more arriving at the uni. I'm coming from interstate with my parents but I was curious to what the norm was - do you arrive by yourself? can your parents come with you to the uni? or does that seem too immature in a way . . .
Just curious cause I'm a school leaver and rather shy in these kind of situations and i don't want to make a wrong first impression.
Any advice would be welcome thanks!

Oh and quickly what is the general attire?

Your parents can come, but it's best if you go to the interview registration and everything after that by yourself. I am sure your parents can wonder around the uni campus until you are finished.
Clothing wise, have a look here:https://www.medstudentsonline.com.au/...prepare-me-69/
o
r any of the interview attire threads (sooo many around).

Don't be shy, try to maintain a confident attitude, believe in yourself so others can see it.

I sat the interview last year. The panel consists of 3 people. 1) A dentist, 2) professor/academic and 3) a community member. The interview will go for around 20-25mins. It is a normal interview and no MMI.

At interviews last year, it was normal for parents to come with you to the registration/waiting room. Its a small campus so your parents will sit and wait while you register and sit your interview. It is a nice environment, the parents tend to chat to the other parents and have a nice chat while your big moment is up haha. They understand you travelled far to get here, so its normal to have someone there wait for you. Especially because they give tours of the uni with your family after the interview. Btw, two interviews run at the same time at each time slot as well.
