Dentistry Entry Discussion and Questions

yeezyboy im pretty sure they do January as that would be main round dont worry too much about it. I am pretty sure the Nov round the only data they had were from uni students who applied and gap year students.

Hi, does anyone know when Adelaide dentistry students start clinical work? As far as I know, they start straight from Y1 by attending simulation clinics (is that the only clinical thing??) alongside theory work (+cbl?) and then they continue doing that until Y5, when it becomes full clinical and you will be allocated to different placements. Could someone please confirm whether or not any of this is correct? I've been trying to decipher the website but it is quite confusing :S

does anyone know what is special about the Adelaide dentistry program?

Because I am a little unsure of how to approach the interview!

Hi all, I messed up one of my interview questions but rest went pretty well. I think it was one of the important questions.
Did I ruin all my chances? :((((

I am sorry to say, but MSO cannot give you any sort of confirmation of passing or failing an interview. All I can say is that a) messing up one question will probably not be a big deal, but I am not 100% sure, b) Sometimes you overthink whether you messed up a Q, and you can never tell what the marker wants. So worrying won't do any good. Just be thankful for the opportunity, and think of it as practice, and if you get an offer, think of it as a bonus. Try to stay distracted as much as possible. Good luck!

Hi
I am a non-standard applicant my GPA is 6.85 and my UCAT is 96%. However my atar is not in the 99+ range. Do I have a chance at getting an offer for UQ dentistry?

Thank you Cal. You are right, I can't change anything now; I am feeling awful but I'll try to stay distracted as I have my exams starting.

I feel you. I also stuffed up on a pretty major question
Best of luck to both of us. I was very stressed during the interview which was not helpful.

Maybe I’m reaching, but have their been any anecdotes of people feeling like they failed but still got an invite. After all the rejections why are the realistic chances of snagging an offer?

I hope these posts will help keep your hopes up.

> 2016 place offers - Med all unis
"interview was an absolute disaster." - Got UNSW place offer

> 2016 place offers - Med all unis
"my WSU interview probably went the worst out of the three unis since I messed up two stations outright and I didn't finish another one" - Got WSU place offer.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but how are you meant to answer the following question:

What experience do you have that demonstrates your hand-eye coordination?

Especially if your sport of choice is not really related to it? Am I just meant to reassure them I believe I have good dexterity lol
