when do admitted students usually receive welcome (pre-matriculation) emails?
I assume you’re an international student? Otherwise, you’re well ahead of the game! It would likely be shortly after receiving the official offer through SATAC - if you’re a domestic applicant that is. For most that occurs in January, for others with second and third round offers it occurs later in Jan/Feb.

hi does anyone know when flinders give out place offer emails? Is it right after the atar release? So in this case, after 30th December for VIC applicants?

Hi, for the ATAR component, does it matter if it is high 99.95 or low 99.95? As my friend is a SA student and SACE has what they call aggregate? And how likely is it for him to receive an offer with 99.95 ATAR and a 2950 (91st percentile) UCAT? Thanks a lot!!

I don't think Flinders differentiates between aggregates, 99.95 + 91%ile should be good to go.

I recently changed my preferences on SATAC and immediately after the status on my Flinders application turned to "Not eligible - late". Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I haven’t heard of it happening before - you should contact SATAC ASAP this week to get it sorted as they’ll likely be off over the Christmas period.

Hi there,
This happened to me just this morning - my status changed from "eligible for consideration" to "not eligible - late" after I changed Flinders from my third to first preference. I've just sent an inquiry to SATAC - crossing my fingers they can revert it back!

Hi A1, regarding flinders, as the offer will be much lessen than last year (from 60 to around 30?), do you think the ucat cutoff will be much higher? I am afraid my 90% ucat is not high enough.....

Just to confirm, are you saying Flinders are cutting their provisional entry places in half for 2021 entry in comparison to previous years?

It was always 30 places as far as I know... I wasn’t aware of it ever being at 60 for provisional entry.

ETA: I think they usually make around 60ish offers for 30 places but there’s a high decline rate (and it doesn’t matter if there’s more acceptances than expected because they can just deduct places from the grad entry cohort), but happy to be corrected if I’ve missed something.

Yes, it is what I mean. As it seems that it got 62 spots on 2019, (couldn't find how many on 2020) and it seems to cut down to 27 spots for 2021 entry. Am I right?

According to this link...does it mean 60 offers ? sorry if i interpret it wrongly?

A1 can let us know, but there’s presumably SATAC data which can give us an answer too. I’m thinking it’s 60 place offers in expectance that many of these will be declined for interstate positions but A1 will know more than me.

TACs Offer Statistics Archive

There were ~60 offers given out for flinders, but only an estimated 30 actually enrolled. It’s a pretty common practice to over offer to prepare for declines

If you have paid access to AdelaideNow/Advertiser you can search by SATAC course code for not only number of 2020 offers but the students who got them too. Similar to this showing 62 for 2019
