Flinders Flinders Medicine: Provisional Entry General Discussion

just called flinders and they said there's about 50 people above of me on the waitlist so seems very unlikely that applicants around my UCAT will get an offer. unlucky boys.

I called them up and they said about 1000 more people applied this year compared to previous years

It could be that this year due to COVID a lot more families qualified for gov support money, thus a lot more students got UES boosted to 99.95?

If that's the case I'd be surprised if any 99.90 gets a Flinders offer this year. In my year it went down to 99.85.

I have a friend who got an offer with a 99.90 ATAR with no UES, idk how

the UES application definitely got approved - i had actually emailed SATAC about it a couple months ago just to make sure. I'll need to call Flinders to see where I sit on the waitlist (hoping for the best since Flinders and UAdel are my top two preferences)

Did you find out where you were on the list?

ok so i called Flinders and they said I'm at around 130th-140th on the waitlist. seems a little weird especially with what other people have been saying here - does that mean that they look at your atar before ues is applied or something? that seems to be the only conclusion i came to (btw my atar was 97.6)

Does 97.6 ATAR + UES boost you up to 99.95?

that's what satac told me (i assume it was pretty much borderline though)
Yeah, because according to 2019 data (no 2020 data available) that would've put you on 99.85, although I think aggregates fell across the board in 2020. Perhaps they do look at pre-adjustment ATAR after all?

that's what i thought too. i'll double check again with satac to make sure - i'm guessing that they either accidentally gave me the wrong score or flinders does look at the ATAR before UES

ok so I'm pretty sure I know what happened (satac hasn't replied back yet but I think it'll just reinforce this). When I first asked about the adjustment factors, I think they might have given me the atar with all the adjustment factors combined (ues as well as subject bonus points, of which I had 4) so that obviously gave me a higher atar but with just ues my atar should be lower. That makes a lot more sense because i did think that 99.95 was too high given my atar. thanks for the help :)

Hi everyone, I received an offer for medicine at Flinders this morning! On my offer letter, it doesn't state whether my offer is bonded or unbonded. Where will I be able to find out about this?
