you're kiddingUNSW are releasing on the day of so... "fair" is pretty relative![]()
They kinda have to... they need actual ATAR to determine interview invite eligibility (under their current metric, which they're obviously not changing). As NSW ATAR release is so late this year, they have to wait until mid-late Jan, then interview and have offers ready to go for late Jan UAC round. They've advised they are sending out interview invites from early morning on the day of release, then will start interviews that afternoon and into early evening, plus the next two days, to get them all through in time.you're kidding
...
wtf
Hi mate, did you find anything out about the CSU interview invites yet?Did you email or call them? (Not that I know which email or number you would ring, im just curious cause I think I might end up giving them a ring)
This is how it usually is for JMP, from memory, so could well be.The JMP website has this in the key dates for January: mid University of Newcastle/University of New England interviews for interstate non-rural applicants only but for Nov Dec w/c 22 Nov, w/c 29/11 & w/c 6 Dec University of Newcastle/University of New England interviews
I was wondering if this means non-rural interstate applicants won't have interviews until January? Thanks!!
Ohh I see! Thank you so much! That's a relief... thank you!! Usually would we still receive interviews with the other pool of applicants? This is how it usually is for JMP, from memory, so could well be.
yes, you would! but i think the chance of getting an offer decreases :/ (since they've had alr secured local applicants so there'd be less spots for non-rural interstate applicants)Ohh I see! Thank you so much! That's a relief... thank you!! Usually would we still receive interviews with the other pool of applicants?
ooooo thank you hehe! i guess they favour their own state!! it sucks but that totally makes sense xdddddyes, you would! but i think the chance of getting an offer decreases :/ (since they've had alr secured local applicants so there'd be less spots for non-rural interstate applicants)
I guess its possible, but I think it would be unlikely as JMP is normally much more transparent about their application processes when compared to WSU and I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere on JMPs applicant information sites.does anyone think NSW rural applicants will be favoured over interstate rural for interviews at JMP, like they seem to have done at JPM?
lets hope soI guess its possible, but I think it would be unlikely as JMP is normally much more transparent about their application processes when compared to WSU and I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere on JMPs applicant information sites.
I mean, they could I just don’t think it’s all that likely some NSW rurals will probably be hoping they do preference them so they can creep in and get an interview with a <45th%ile all we can do is wait and see what the university does.lets hope so![]()
Nah, I just put in a request for a status update on my application (whatever that actually means, I dont know), it wasn't a fruitful callHi mate, did you find anything out about the CSU interview invites yet?
Chuck good ol Sue a buzz, simple fixI mean, they could I just don’t think it’s all that likely some NSW rurals will probably be hoping they do preference them so they can creep in and get an interview with a <45th%ile all we can do is wait and see what the university does.
They should be honest and say a process error. I wonder if they will go back and check everyone or just the ones who contact them about it?Congrats. See the benefits of being on MSO a forum with a powerful political voice
Another act of hiding behind the illusionary "system". It was the people doing selection not fully understanding their selection criteria.
It's a scary thought how many more cases like this happen at other places.
Yeah!!! They definitely definitely should. I think they would only bother to check those that contacted tho ughThey should be honest and say a process error. I wonder if they will go back and check everyone or just the ones who contact them about it?
No, they don’t. As far as I’m aware, this largely only occurs with JPM and UAdel (and not consistently with either as it depends on how many original invitees end up declining).does JMP do top up interview offers and if so is it unlikely to get an place offer if you do get a top up?
