I sorta read this post as saying that non rural interstates would receive interviews later, but I realised that it probably just means interviews will be on a different date.
was there something you read that indicated that invites for interstate non-rural would be on different dates? generally it'd be with the rest of the local applicants anywhere in 22nd nov - 10th dec

The JMP website has this in the key dates for January: mid University of Newcastle/University of New England interviews for interstate non-rural applicants only but for Nov Dec w/c 22 Nov, w/c 29/11 & w/c 6 Dec University of Newcastle/University of New England interviews

I was wondering if this means non-rural interstate applicants won't have interviews until January? Thanks!!

Also, an update in case anyone was wondering: I emailed JMP admissions this morning and here is what they had to say:

can jmp send invites for interviews if they aren't at the top of your list of courses on uac?
In previous years if you were at/above the interview cutoff you'd get an invite regardless of UAC prefs. But it's not certain this year as we have seen a few cases of high scores lower prefs not getting an invite. We don't know if JMP will adopt this or not.

Would you suggest shuffling our preferences for a brief period around in anticipation for JMP to release interview offers to ensure an invite?

Normally I'd say yes except I hear UAC pref change is currently locked until 12th Nov, which is when JMP invites may come out.

With JMP, if we are rejected by either uni are we instantly rejected by the other and screwed for the joint thing or can we actually be rejected by one but accepted by the other?

You are selected for interview then for place offer in a common JMP pool. So if you are rejected (pray not) you are rejected by JMP, not by individual UoN or UNE.

Hey I was wondering if someone could explain how a Multiple Skills Assessment (MSA) for JMP works??? Is it similar to an MMI???

yes, similar! just rotating through a circuit of 8 scenarios or sometimes undertaking activities (but i doubt that - since it's on zoom now)

I also believe it's 5 stations now in a 50 minute interview for JMP
ooh ok! do we know if there'll be someone on the other end watching us live? or is it just a screen with questions put up and where they just record us speak (as apparently some unis are doing it this way)

It would make sense for someone to be watching us live, as an interview isn't all about how you speak, but also non-verbal cues (like posture, emotions, hand gestures, all of which are as important, if not, more important that what you say in order to make a good first impression)

For JMP it was generally UoN interview for NSW/ACT students, UNE interview for QLD students. Interstate in 2nd interview round was all UoN iirc. Not sure about rurals.
I’m a nonstandard NSW applicant and I was allocated to UNE.
