Nah I'm taking an 8th paper so I think I can still replace PHSI with STAT115
"In this instance, the results in the best seven papers will be counted for the purposes of admission to the professional programmes, provided that the compulsory seven papers are passed at or above the required minimum standards. " - From Otago Website

To be clear (as I think we all know... haha) you definitely need over 70% in each of the seven HSFY papers, regardless of your 8th, to be eligible for medicine entry from HSFY.

Also, reminder to not use anyone else's name here too please.

Is this what a comic relief study break looks like, nowadays? 🤣 (I'm giving benefit of the doubt and assuming that the whole thing was an elaborate practical joke?)

Are there still practical jokes in lectures these days? (You know, people dramatically bursting through the door, shouting or chanting something then promptly exiting, as some sort of dare.)

Anyways, good to see that the MSOtago community is pretty onto it re MBChB entry requirements!

Nope nothing interesting this year, apart from memorising tonnes of interesting facts

Is it still able to be replaced by a UCAT section over 700%

Why are you joking me?
Yes I also believe if you get 700% in any UCAT section you immediately unlock the MAPAS and rural entry pathways!!!

Apparently you also get a free A+ for BIOC if you did really well in UCAT. So much freebies in HSFY this year
Yeah I for sure heard that. Also went to tutor hours for POPH and they told me my high situational judgement and verbal reasoning scores are enough for them to replace my humanities essay in the final completely

Yeah, I went to the office the other day and they said that a high UCAT score can eliminate your POPH essay, and hubs essay.

Essay? (I only remember HUBS mini-essays in part 3 of the exam. Legit can't remember HEAL192, the precursor to POPH192, having an essay, but maybe it was just so bad that my brain blocked it out of my memory)
