hi all,
When you apply to Med, Dent or any of the professional programmes, do you need a CV or write a personal statement like Auckland?
And also, how does a dentistry interview look like, is it like MMI or just a couple of questions about why you want to do dentistry etc?

Not via HSFY you don't afaik. Not sure about the dent interview sorry

Unlike all of my friends, I am not aiming for medicine, cause I feel being a doctor is just not my thing, but I would like to get into second year med lab science, what is my chance to get into med lab science as an international student?

You're chances are probably very good. I think most years med lab science doesn't fill all its places.

Gaining the minimum B+ you need to stay eligible for all the professional courses should be enough to get you into med lab sci, from what I've seen.

You only need a minimum 65% average for med lab, not B+.

Hey. Where can i grab past years term tests for HSFY papers. I just wanted some practice progress tests and anything else that could help in preparation for mid semester exams.

Nobody had access to past progress tests in my year (2017) - HUBS are really careful about not releasing past terms papers because a lot of questions are repeated. Unless things have changed in the last two years, your best bet would be finding practice tests that other students (e.g. your tutors) have put together. You and your friends could also make practice MCQs and give them to each other to test each other.

Hey! Can someone please fill me in regarding the rural entry into med/ dent for 2nd year? Like if you apply via rural who do you compete against and stuff, and what are your chances to get in etc.

You only compete against your respective hsfy/graduate rural cohort. As a result its pretty easy lol.

There seems to be 55 seats each year for rural applicants with 9-15 of those seats going to graduates so the rest for HSFY.
