Im pretty sure the cutoff for dentistry last year was 92 minimum (including for those waitlisted) right?? not direct entry?

For 2017 the cutoff entry was 83.86% for first round offers.

Subsequent offers from second round offers will be lower than the cutoff offers.

I think what happened was they accepted too many people in 2017, so they drastically increased the cutoff last year to limit the number of people taken in

I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong) but in 2017, the dent school gave out too much offers, and many people accepted, hence they started offering 10k scholarships to people to defer their offer (by 1 year) which could meant that the number of seats available for 2018 cohort was chopped off a little bit, leading to increase in cutoff? (just my speculation)

I doubt it. Cutoffs for rural and Maori applicants tend to be lower that those applying under general entry. However, due to lack of data, we don't actually know how much lower.

I have no idea unfortunately, it varies from year to year.

I'm not sure if you get notified on evision. I think you'll just have to keep refreshing the "programmes and papers" page but I predict release around Friday the 13th of December +/- a few days.

I asked my friend and she said she just kept refreshing the page on her phone last year.

It could be but I personally didn't get a notification for my dent interview offer. It may differ but tbh I'm probably just going to be checking MSO everyday nearing the 13th since someone in MSO will say when offers are out asap lol.

This has recently changed. They used to do a system where offers were sent out by email. They now do it through evision. This is in the form of an alert which becomes visible underneath the "all alerts" section on the evision home page. I've attached a picture to illustrate this.

I am currently BDS4 and can confirm last year people with averages in the 91% range were waitlisted. My cohort (2017 - entry in 2018) had a very low score however there was also an admin error which led to extra people being sent offers

They actually offered us money to defer our study because there were too many people hahahahha

I agree last year offers came out around 5:30am 12th December I was notified by a member on MSO - to all the HSFY it is a horror week next week of nerves hahah try binge a TV show or something to keep your mind off it

Email notifications always lag eVision notifications. You will receive an email saying you have an alert on evision in your email however I am sure most of you will check before you even receive this email

Yep hahahah the admin team sent out offers to people who should have been on the waitlist
