Interview Invites and Dates 2018-19

Hi there just to clarify the invites coming out on Monday will not be for interstate students right? Or are they for everyone

In my year 2015 local and interstate invites were sent out same time, but those in WA like myself received 3-4 days later since it was by letter mail. It changed to using email from 2016, I believe they are sent out together but interstate ones (except ACT/Qld) are not given an interview date until January.

I just woke up to the follow-up email from WSU regarding interview info and booking instructions. One part of it threw me off, and that was:

Interviews, along with academic and UMAT results form part of the selection criteria for the MD course.

Is this just their way of saying that the UMAT threshold (already applied) and academic threshold (to be applied before offers are given) are “part” of the criteria?

Orrrrr does this mean that the criteria has changed to include academic results and UMAT in the final selection criteria?

It’s probably still the former, but if anyone could give me confirmation I’ll be able to relax lol

This is from my letter last year, "All interviews will be held on Campbelltown campus. Interviews, along with academic and UMAT results, form part of the selection criteria for the MBBS and MBBS/BA course. Instructions on how to accept and book your interview time are included." When I attended the interview, they then advised us it was interview only for offers, so it's probably the same, but they have changed to the MD so they may be switching things up a bit, we don't know for sure. Perhaps you'll get a clearer idea when you attend your own interview and the briefing that occurs prior to.

Does anyone know how many places are offered for undergrad med for each of the universities? I know UNSW has 138 places but I can't seem to find numbers for most of the others.
Thank you!!! :)

I just made a booking as well.
Did you get a confirmation email?
I am not sure if booking was made correctly!
Hi Cocomon
yes I did get an email straight away saying "appointment confirmation". I'll see you on the Friday if that's when you're going!

Hey guys, do you know whether we can change our CSU interview booking day/time? I accidentally chose the wrong session :'(

You'll need to contact CSU directly. I'd suggest doing it ASAP as your preferred spot is likely to be taken quickly as people open their emails.

I tried logging in to the AIBS for WSU interview but got the error message that I entered an invalid UMAT ID number.

I’m assuming this is just because the AIBS isn’t open yet? Has anyone else tried logging in and can confirm that with me? Thanks!

Received the WSU followup email at 9.22am this morning. it says

"You will need to log on to the Automated Interview Booking System (AIBS) to book your interview time and date. The AIBS will be available for you to book your interview time between 10am, Monday 5 November and 4pm, Wednesday 7 November 2018. If you have not booked an interview by 4pm, Wednesday 7 November, 2018 your application will no longer be considered."

So i guess we wont be able to log in before then....

AIBS might be open since it's being used for other WSU courses as well. But it's not meant to take med interview bookings yet so your UAC/UMAT ID number has not been entered for it to recognise.

Yes it won't open until the dates listed above. I remember trying to log in early last year "just in case" and having a bit of a panic because it said my UMAT number was invalid. Don't stress, it's just because it's not open yet.

Also, just mentioning received Monash acknowledgment email with deans rural list info about 3.37pm today, which I suppose everyone has received.

Hi, does anyone know when Flinders invites are released? Also, does UQ let you know whether you've made it or not immediately after ATAR is released? Thank you :)

Flinders : no interview thus no invite, wait for the SATAC offer round.
UQ : similarly, have to wait for the QTAC offer round.

Interestingly about Flinders, last year an Adelaide newspaper published the names of those receiving the provisional offers, 56 of them not counting int'ls. But at start of semester less than 30 took up according to FlyingAce.
