JCU JCU Medicine: General Entry Discussion

Called JCU, they were released last night
Does anyone know how many Interviews they offer for the 2nd round?

I have a family friend who is applying as a first year uni student with a GPA of 7 non rural from Melbourne

Do they take just the application into account for the interviews or GPA as well?

Cheers guys.
From what I’ve heard, the 2nd round is mainly for people with a not so good ATAR estimate managing to get a lot higher than expected in the actual test.

Can anyone who was successful in getting an offer this year access the offer details link in the email from JCU? I cant see anything in the portal it directs me to.

yeah same, im having a hard time with the enrollment process. It keeps asking me to enroll in classes but says for med, its already done

Firstly congrats to everyone who got an offer!

Secondly, I wouldn't stress too much about the enrollment yet. I remember doing it my first time and it was a proper nightmare concluding in me calling up JCU and needing to be talked through some of it. But the major thing to consider right now is that I don't believe class enrollment has opened yet. From what I've heard the College of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Science (what med is a part of) doesn't open enrollement for sem 1 until 17th jan 10am. Once it's actually open you'll need to find the MD1010 subject code in estudent and that's the only thing you need to enroll in for sem 1 (it will be MD1020 for sem 2), but keep in mind this won't show up on the estudent timetable for classes because JCU med is just 'special' that way. Hope this helps

Hi, congrats on your offer!! So you will be able to enroll in MD1010 and MD1020 through my study plans in estudent but you won't be able to physically enroll in the subjects until the 17th when enrollment opens. In the app it will say "1 step left" and this is perfectly fine! You have done everything you can do at this stage :) so sit back and relax, have a look at the placement stuff you need to do and start thinking about filling this out before the semester starts (it is quite extensive)! Best of luck and reach out if you need any help

Thank you!!!!!

Hi, unfortunately I'm not aware that they have ever done secondary offers after the main offer round, especially since the start of uni is coming up very fast
Thank you for your reply! Understood. What happens if people who received main round offers decline? Will they not send out any supplementary offers?
Cheers.

From my understanding, (don't quote me haha) they send out more offers than they have places, knowing a percentage of people will decline for other universities
