I suggest everyone to say the total opposite - it's so horrible no-one looks forward to having to do it again next year

Sadly, I'm feeling a bit this way. Completely messed up my last station. One bad station probably wouldn't have mattered, but now all I can remember is everything I did wrong in all the "good" stations. Given how competitive it is, and the high standard of all the applicants I spoke to, I'm just going to assume I didn't get in. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised but meh, I don't know.

Out of curiosity, are UON and UNE required to ask the same questions/number to interviewees? Been hearing different things about rest stations/number of stations at each university.

I wouldn't feel to bad about it - I definitely didn't do well in 2 of my stations. I felt like i floundered and had the lady ask the question to me 3 times because i miss-interpreted it.

You can't expect to ace every section - I think that's unreasonable to assume. Just take solace that you did well in some, and hope it is enough!

p.s. I'm guessing as you are posting now you had a morning session? That means UON is interviewing around 64 ppl per day as there was 32 people in my afternoon session.

I’d be very surprised if there was a different number of question stations between campuses. As for rest stations, I don’t think it’d matter TOO much if they weren’t entirely consistent across the two campuses.

ETA 2: even just stuff like, 10 stations, 8 active, 2 rest, notes on the door but also on the table, water available, 3 role play stations, etc would be enough. I wouldn't need anything more specific than that. UPDATE: Both campuses covered. Shall report back

Hey, Happy to - I don't see how that will aid anyone or give an advantage (and i 100% wont help a single soul at all to give them an advantage which ultimately disadvantages me) but I can clarify structure for you.

It's more out of interest than anything else. If it's different at the two, it'd then be interesting to know why, but I suspect it won't be.

I feel a bit like that too. Bit can't add or subtract anything from the process now, so have decided to treat it like a learning experience for next time, enjoy the summer and think about what else to do in 2020.

That way if the admissions answer is no I've long since moved on by the time I find out. And if by chance the answer is yes it'll be an even more pleasant surprise.

Yes I had a morning session on Tuesday.

I had 8 stations, no rest station.

Haha, Kezza, I had so much trouble understanding one interviewer's accent I also had to ask her to keep repeating questions. I thought, on a personal and subconscious level, that would probably piss her off. Lol. That is the station I did pretty appalling in. I'm expecting close to 0 for that one.

Yes I did have fun for the most part. If there is a next time I'll be crossing fingers for an afternoon session because I'd have certainly felt more fresh and focussed.

Hey guys, I feel like this might have been answered before but after the interview, does JMP only use your interview score to determine if you got a place? Do they not look at ATAR/GPA or UCAT anymore?

The JMP only uses your ATAR and UCAT as a hurdle. Provided you exceed the 94.3 or 91.4 (rural) the ATAR would not be used to determine your place. However, it may be used as a tertiary differentiator if two candidates have equal interview and UCAT scores.

I believe a session cohort is divided into two groups, one group does the PQA first then MMI, the other vice versa. Although the PQA takes shorter time the group that does it first has to wait for the other's MMI to finish before starting theirs. So the total time is effectively twice as long as an MMI-only interview.

If you’re in the group that does PQA second, you can go as soon as you’re done, but the groupings are randomly allocated and you have no say. Just luck of the draw. I did it first so had heaps of sitting around to do.

I was later in the day on Tuesday, and we had 9 stations including one rest station. I heard some of the admin staff talking about how the overall timing would change since they'd had to add a station (rest). I'm guessing they had to compensate for one more interviewee than planned, possibly because transport is chaos around there at the moment due to road closures from fires.

I also don't recall having any interviewer with an accent so it's possible likely that they changed over during the day too.

I just realized - I guess Kezza and Eliden interviewed at UON, I was at UNE, my mistake!

At UNE it seems the setup was 2 groups of 8 (in my case 9) with one in MMI and one in PQA. Water available, station details on a chair outside each room.

PM if any further non-NDA-breaching details are desired for UNE.

Sorry I am a bit confused. The MSA on the JMP website states that there is 8x8min stations. If there were 32 people in each session, wouldn't that mean that there are 4 MMI circuits being held concurrently? Clarification would be awesome. Thanks
