Hi! I'm trying to submit my aspire application but I don't think dental science drop down exists?? I'm not sure what happened with this one and it would be great if someone could explain this??
I submitted mine today and it was there. Maybe check if your applying under the correct aspire stream? It’s only there specifically for the “community contribution” aspire stream

Hi guys!

I'm filling out my aspire application. I'm a not standard in first year at la trobe and applying for internal transfer into dent. As part of the aspire application I need to put dentistry in VTAC, but if I'm applying through internal transfer do I still need to do this?

Any chance at entry with a 3.0/4 gpa at Monash Bach of Science WAM 77% completed degree and a 84.5% WAM at an international uni dent degree (one year complete) if I’m a domestic student? I’ve also put down referees for my work exp as a dental assistant and other shadowing exp etc

Cheers

3.0/4 gpa at Monash Bach of Science WAM 77% is quite low for all dent schools, especially for Latrobe which doesn't require interview or UCAT.

Work experience will not application except perhaps for JCU, but your international dent degree may have a negative impact on your application because I heard that JCU does not like applications who have studied Med/Dent somewhere else and did not finish it.

Hello! I was wondering if a 99.90 or 99.95 adjusted atar would make it into la trobe dent? I'm non rural and from nsw but I heard they reject a lot of students that apply interstate

i haven't either, but have early conditional offers come out? Cause my friends who are not applying for med or dent received early offers for aspire. ALSO Was there a Latrobe dentistry student who applied as a regional student that I can please speak to regarding my application for dentistry? :)

In theory, 99.90 or 99.95 adjusted atar would land you an offer. However, the adjustment factor calculator is not as reliable for dentistry.

According to the Latrobe chat though they said they would refer work experience?? Not sure tho

That’s new. LaTrobe aren’t even listed as one of the universities on the UCAT website. Clearly some updates of the LaTrobe and UCAT sites need to be made.
i know that 3 years back someone had told..... for Uni students, Latrobe dental requires UCAT and GPA

It does i submitted mine a day ago. It is def there

Also this year UCAT is not required right? Just making sure

edit. i was on VTAC course search for the above question. 1. UCAT is not needed. 2. they removed Chem as a prereq, its just english now
Hi, Just checking if you have receive any email from La trobe regards to the aspire application? i applied in Mid-Aug, but still have not hear back with a confirmation for Aspire.

Did you talk to someone who is in charge of dent admissions? Many of the general admissions people don't know much about dent, some of them even have difficulties understanding what's written on Latrobe's website.

They removed the UCAT requirement.

Yes, but they give bonus points to applicants who have done chem and biology. Since most applicants will have an atar of 95+, the chance of getting an offer without doing chem and/or biology is pretty low.

Subject adjustments
VCE:

A study score of 30 in Biology or Chemistry equals 2 aggregate points per study. Overall maximum of 4 points.

HSC:

Applicants who successfully complete one of the following HSC or equivalent Year 12 subjects will have their selection rank increased by one point per study:

A study score of 30 in Biology or Chemistry equals 2 aggregate points per study. Overall maximum of 4 points.

Subject adjustments: Are these aggregate points applicable to La Trobe Dental hons course's ASPIRE too?
Any idea what is a 30 score equivalent in WA ?
