Aspire dentistry offers have started rolling out btw, I got mine today!!
this is a bit late but congratulations! If you dont mind sharing, how did you answer the questions in your aspire application? Do you have any tips or anything? I graduated from high school last year (2022) and I'm taking a gap year, and I'm hoping to apply via the program. Thank you sm!!

Hi, do you mind explaining how to apply for the aspire dentistry? I'm a non-standard but I'm not taking a gap year!

I just called La Trobe university and they said they don't consider UCAT for non-standard as well. When I called them last year, someone said that they consider UCAT for non-standard? I'm a little confused, so it would be great if someone could clarify this!! Thank you!

Hi they dont look at Ucat

So you can get an early conditional offer basically for any course at La Trobe if you do some volunteering/community work and submit an application. I'm pretty sure a non-year 12 can also do it too

Hi they dont look at Ucat
I called today as well, and they said they didnt. But that was for year 12 and gap year students. Im pretty sure it'd be the same for everyone else too, but maybe just confirm?

Hi, what are the chances of getting into Latrobe Dentistry? In my first degree, I obtained a 5.3 overall. Last year I undertook a graduate certificate as an online student through Latrobe, earning 6.85 overall.

did any non-standards/internal transfer applicant get offers today? I have yet to receive an offer as internal applicant with a 95 wam :/

Furthermore apparently this year, theres only 20 people that were offered dent (as opposed to 60 normally) according to the latrobe livechat but when asked how many nonstandards got an offers, they didn't know what non standard is... Are we able to get someone from inside to confirm? Only person i know is Unluckydude
Hey any updates on your application?

which online degree did you do ?

Hi everyone. I just came to know about Aspire. It says that applications are still open for the Community Contribution. I've just finished my first semester with a GPA of 7/7. And I have volunteered at Vinnies and an Old age home near my house. First, am i eligible? Secondly how does Aspire work? Like when would I get an offer and such. Thanks in advance. Applying for Dentistry BTW
edit. Even though Aspire says Applications are currently open how do I go about applying on VTAC since that is currently closed?

Hello, I was wondering what would be the minimum GPA (realistic wise) to get into LaTrobe Dent as a non-standard? I am aiming towards 6.75 but not too sure if that would be enough!

I do believe you are eligible. to apply, you need to fill out the application form

Hey everyone, I really need some help with dental applications.

I'm a first-year Physiotherapy student at LaTrobe, but I'm wanting to get into dentistry next year (2024). I'm doing my aspire application now and I don't know if the admissions team will apply the aspire ATAR on my ATAR from last year (98.1) or on my WAM from this year and then convert that WAM into an atar.

The Aspire ATAR is 94, and I already got above 94 (98.1 last year 2022), so does that mean if I get accepted into Aspire for dentistry this year (2023), I am guaranteed a spot next year (2024) since I already passed that 94 threshold? Or do I have to achieve a WAM equivalent to the 94?

And do I get admitted as a new student, or as an internal transfer?

I've had tens of meetings with LaTrobe future students and current students, and all they say is "they will consider your whole academic history."

Also, I've seen people say non-standard needs UCAT, is this true? Haven't been told at all about UCAT and its not on the course requirements at all

Thankyou.

It’s really unclear how exactly LaTrobe Dentistry take in students being honest. I’m pretty sure we don’t need UCAT as a non-standard. With aspire which category do you fall under, for example i’ll be applying with my volunteering. Moreover since you’ve started tertiary education i’m pretty sure it’ll be your wam/GPA.

I'm applying for community contribution program. I've spoken to the aspire team and they've said that they apply the aspire atar to whichever is stronger (out of ATAR and WAM). But I'm not sure how true this is.

Hi, I was just wondering when you graduate from the LaTrobe Bachelor of Dental Science are you considered a dentist, like are you in the same position as graduating from any other dentistry school? (It's just the no UCAT and no interview requirement seems too good to be true lol). And if you successfully enter this program, are there any requirements to be met throughout your studies to stay in this program for the entire 5 years? Any replies would be appreciated :)

Yeah you are a proper dentist. The degree is accredited by the dental board of Australia

Hi! I'm trying to submit my aspire application but I don't think dental science drop down exists?? I'm not sure what happened with this one and it would be great if someone could explain this??
