Med and Dent - 2019 Entry (Offers)

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this q, but does anyone know when UQ second round offers come out?
The later QTAC offer rounds are on Jan 25 and Feb 5. If they do release second round offers, it should be via QTAC on one of these dates.

Not sure if anyone knows this but does placing for example UQ med over UQ dent lower your chances of getting an offer for dent if I don’t meet the requirements for med this year?

No, you are given an offer to the first course that you are eligible for. It does not matter how you preference things, if you have a high enough rank for dentistry, but don't make medicine, you will receive the dentistry offer.

I saw on here that a few people have received emails from SATAC to notify them that they didn't receive an offer- for some reason I didn't get any emails but when I go into my selection status on SATAC it says "my qualifications were not competitive enough to ensure selection in the January offer round."

Does anyone else have this? And is it just referring to the January main round offers or also the further ones on the 24th and 31st? TIA :)

Course Type: Medicine
Offer Received: Nope :(
University: Adelaide and Flinders
UMAT: 96th%ile
ATAR: 99.4
Special Considerations: no

Does anyone know of someone who was rejected from Adelaide but still got an offer from Monash?

Has anyone at all been accepted into Flinders?!?
Nope but I'm absolutely kicking myself for not applying there because my equity bonus points put my atar up to 99.95 (only found out about this after the Flinders deadline) and surely with 90th %ile that would've landed me an offer?

Depends on what your S1 and S2 scores are - Trinhcent has reported his friend has a 99.95 raw ATAR with 89th UMAT (56/50/72) and missed out on a Flinders offer. He is apparently ranked between 20th and 30th on the waitlist.

Accepted to Flinders Med!
Course Type:
med
Offer Received: yes
University: Flinders University
UMAT: 71%ile rank, 163, 58/58/47
ATAR or GPA: 99.95 with UES
Special Considerations: rural
Offer Type: CSP
Other Information: Have not decided whether to accept or reject yet. Waiting for UQ offers, but VERY excited to be accepted

When I logged onto SATAC, it says I have an offer - However, I haven't received an offer email from SATAC so far - should I be worried?
Nope, I’d be more concerned if it was the other way around! I’d give SATAC a call tomorrow if it still hasn’t come through by then.

Congrats on the offer :)

I was (first) rejected by Adelaide but got an offer from Monash. Relatively Adelaide is harder to get in for the higher applicants because place offer ratio is 1 in 6 vs Monash 1 in ~2.5, and many get a UES-boosted ATAR to cancel out your ATAR advantage.

Btw I have mentioned this a few times here but for the newbies' info, I was also rejected by Flinders with 99.80 & S1+S2=156. Whereas that same year a 99.85 S1+S2=126 got an offer. What this shows is my 30 UMAT marks advantage was outweighed by his 0.05 higher ATAR. By extension a 99.95 should get Flinders with S1+S2 less than 70, but it never works out that way.

Goodness A1..... Very interesting and nice to read at a time where we’re trying to pick ourselves up after rejection, particularly when you feel you did a good interview .

Who would be the best person in the Flinders Faculty to query details??
