Monash Monash Medicine: General Entry Discussion

Does getting a December round (based solely on UCAT) or January round (UCAT + SR) interview affect chances of receiving an offer? Or is there a set quota for each month round? Thank youuu!
Presumably the January interviews are early Jan (to be in time for mid-Jan offers) there should be no difference since the Dec + Jan interviewees are all put into one pool to rank on ATAR+UCAT+Interview for offers.

How likely would it be to get a first round interview and second round interview with a 3090 as a local vic non-rural, and what sort of Atar would i be looking at to get a second round interview if not. Thanks.

We can see that the indicative cutoff for first round invite is 3100. So you're quite borderline. But this also means your UCAT is good for second round, so I assume anything above 98+ would be competitive for a second round interview.

Also found this on Monash Website. Only 192 applicants are selected for an interview in the December round, meaning the majority of applicants will conduct their interviews in January (650 interview places in total). With this number, now I'm thinking the cutoff for december round is quite low. Really? Only 192 people in Victoria have a UCAT score above 3100?

Interesting... so I guess around 650 - (192+192)= 266 metro applicants will do their interview in January, which is still a little more than in december
Need to deduct 70-80 spots for interstate, leaving approx 192 in January.
(Maybe that's how Monash picks these numbers ie. equal Dec & Jan)

Let's guess a third of UCAT sitters are non-standard so 10,000 school leavers.
On population basis Victoria is 25% = 2500 Vic school leavers.

91+%ile Vic = 225 students comprising 192 non-DRL + 33 in the DRL pool?

Does it mean anyone with 3100+ will get first round interview

For non-rurals, only Victorian applicants can get first-round interviews. The 3100 cutoff may potentially increase on the 18th; as Monash initially said, the indicative ucat score for people on the deans rural list was 2700 but then increased it to 2740 today.

Even for ucat with 3100+ first round not selected email sent out today. Looks like cut off increased.

guys if i put extended rural cohort higher preferenced on vtac does it increase my chances of getting in as a rural student? i would prefer to be at clayton for all 5 years but i would take the erc if it meant higher chances

I believe ERC is open for everyone, although the requirements are not as high as a normal CSP... usually people put CSP, ERC and BMP in that order.
