Ugh I had the prelim today, so annoyed at the people writing down every detail (which was in the information that was handed out...). What is with that?
That defines health scis to a tee.
Dont bother taking notes in lectures, sleep instead.

Hahaha it makes me laugh though when you say that because HSFY hasnt even started yet.

And you wont get sabotaged

I'm nervous about being by myself in a lab or something - I don't want to get sabotaged, because I will probably believe it if someone tries to trick me.

Sabotage is a myth. If you are unsure if something someone has told you is right, go ask a demonstrator. There is no way these people are out to sabotage you.

As for the intense note taking, I guess it makes people feel a bit more secure knowing that they were paying attention. Don't sleep, pay attention.

HEY I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE!

If you paid attention there were quite a few important dates of tests and labs discussed which weren't on the handouts and aren't on blackboard yet... While I know they will be, some of us like to update our wall planners and diaries early!

I don't see why being organised needs to be seen as a waste of time, it's hardly 100% unnecessary like you make it out to be.

I think worrying about something in advance may cause excess stress. Don't go ballistic. Being organised is one thing, being superfluous in being organised is a totally different ball game.

Haha no, I actually agree with you, it was just halfway through when I realised I should have been writing some of the dates down, and then I thought to myself that I'd just look it up later.. I understand where you're coming from.

2pm. And each to their own I guess, personally I don't feel I am worrying about anything prematurely..

The HUBS prelim lecture slides are up on blackboard.

Oh haha. Its kinda fun though and they dont have to believe it lol.

Ooohhh health sci starts on monday....so nervous

I still laugh looking back at my first few HUBS lectures! You know how they give you that list of tissue types? I had that off by heart hours after the lecture haha

Me too lol, and just intensely wirte the whole time to freak everyone out

I was actually thinking of taking a bunch of friends and intensely play games the whole time.

I was thinking of going, keeping the desk folded down and asking the people around me "wow, do you actually have to write things down to help you remember this stuff? Well, I'll have respect for you at least if you do manage to make it into med without a decent memory". I'm not quite that cruel though :p

LOL I'm actually keen on going to a monday health sci lecture too and sit in the front with my laptop playing games for the 500 people to see. Or watch a movie haha
