is it still possible to get A+'s in cells and chem if you do average in midterms...17.7/20 and 26/30? how easy is it to lose marks.

[offtopic] And that's not even the average, ffs. [/offtopic]

C'mon Ben, you're a health-sci, surely you get that kind of paranoia too... If you do happen to be immune to it, I want to steal your brain

P.S. I only got 21 on the chem midterm, 61% (I think) on the physics one. Total disappointment for me at the time. You can do it, I did!!!! (Obviously physics has plussage, but still). You all seem far more studious than I was :P Finals are what really counts.

[OFFTOPIC]Mind me asking what average you got in HSFY? I read on the monster thread you had a ranking score of 77.4, yes?[/OFFTOPIC]

I speculate that CELS GLM2 marks will be in discrete steps of 0.25's (out of 5)... 8 MCQs, 1 fill-in-the-gap (with 9 gaps), and 1 match answers (with 3 things), so a total of 20 'markable entities'... Unless of course they have different weighting for each question, which will complicate matters...

Should have learnt by now that the CELS GLMs give out funny units of marks - each question is worth 1 mark, there are as many questions as they feel like putting in there, and the division of partial marks depends on the question design. No one designs tests around "neat" marks - e.g. last year the HEAL192 exam was marked out of 162

[OFFTOPIC]And was I really the only one in 4pm CELS who has had melanoma? In a room with 400 people?[/OFFTOPIC]
[offtopic]Probably, by the looks of things no one responded in Quad 2 this morning, and I don't think anyone in St David would've bothered at all.[/offtopic]

“By distance to infinity I don’t mean Star Wars… “to infinity and beyond”… I mean like 6 meters”
Haha...
What he actually meant was Toy Story.

anyone know how long it takes for final exam marks to come out? will we get them all back before end of semester break?

Yes. If you look at the examinations website, you'll see that results have to be finalised by Monday the 4th of July. Given that it's HSFY, with a lot of scripts to mark, I'd expect results around June 30/July 1.

awesome, so you got straight in, and not off the waiting list? and you weren't applying under rural category? maybe this is possible for me after all!

is everyone revising hubs this week or trying to balance it out and do a bit of everything?

HSFY isn't quite as insane as the rumours would have you believe, Pineapple ;) (Insane, yes, but remember that an 88% average in any course other than HSFY would be regarded as VERY good. And I remember you saying somewhere that you had a UMAT of 91%ile, so I wouldn't be worrying too much about your terms test results lol)
As for HUBS, I'm going to spend the second half of the week almost exclusively on it, but try to get ahead in the other subjects before then so that I don't fall behind (which has been my strategy for all the terms tests so far, seems to work ok). How about you?

Balancing.

mmm yeah i can sorta take a bit of solace in the fact that i knew everything in the cels test (would've got 100% if i wrote my answer in the right space!). and i just freaked out in chem, making silly mistakes lol. i was doing so well in practice tests... hopefully i wont make that mistake in finals, i think its because im putting quite a bit of pressure on myself, and these are like the most important exams of my life!

i cracked quite a bit of hubs today, so i might do a bit of physics tonight, then do some more hubs for tomorrow. hopefully ill be completely done revising by like tuesday, then ill tone it down a bit and do some cells and chem, with a bit of hubs in the background haha. How is your revision going for other subjects then? for me chem and physics seem pretty straightforward just doing practice questions, although i havent really started chem practice questions yet... but cells i have all the notes ive made, but im gonna have to go through EVERYTHING again just to get it into my head, which is kinda daunting.

Also balancing...
