ugh 26, as expected, made some silly mistakes. slightly worried. especially with 17.7% out of 20% in cells, i went to the cells office and checked where i went wrong, and apparently i had 100% but i wrote an answer for question a in the space for b and the answer for b in the space for a and lost four marks. so frustrating. i had studied so hard. puts the pressure on for finals.

I'm pretty sure even if you got 100% for both tests the pressure would still be on for finals. ;)

Interesting, every time I go to PHSI lab some result gets released (last time was PHSI mid-semester)...

[offtopic] 30/30 [/offtopic]

I hear that only Castle 1 (where I was) were allowed to keep the papers?

Also, having just briefly scrolled through the PDF, there are 17 people who got 30... Easy year, I suspect?

I wouldn't call that an easy year, just a normal year, with last year's one having been somewhat more difficult than normal. The questions seemed pretty similar in difficulty to the 2009 and 2008 tests (and slightly easier than the 2010 one), so I'd say its more that.
[OFFTOPIC]600th post, and its only mid-May. I can see this thread getting quite large[/OFFTOPIC]

Thanks Frootloop.
I would really appreciate that if you did that!

And
I got 26/30 too.
I actually got a question that I did write in practice and wrong in the real one.
This is what happens when you sleep at 3am the night before =[

27, pretty shit. Thought i would do way better than that, but as always with me and chem under test conditions i do stupid mistakes.

Yeah, your right but i think its more a disappointment factor. I mean, it always sucks when you put in the work (sometimes more than others) and you dont reap the rewards. Stupid mistakes are the bane of my existence.

You forget that 27/30 is 90%, which is hardly rubbish :P (and is still better than most people in HSFY (ok, those aiming for med/dent are supposed to do better lol, but you see my point.)) Although I know the feeling, I'd hoped for 29 minimum, so it was a bit annoying to see. But I suppose we'll live

Wow, you guys are awfully hard on yourselves! You should be stoked with 27/30! And don't worry, you can still compensate in the final!

Good luck, stay relaxed.

Thanks kooch :D but from what I've seen on this forum, you're the one who deserves med. Grad entry sounds like a b*tch... Respect

55 people got 30/30 in my year... 17 is pretty low, so it must have been a hard test this year as well.

koochkooch is right - 27/30 is an A+, and very good. Honestly, the terms test is so inconsequential compared to the final exam.

Ah... Evidently the (unconfirmed) report of only 8 people getting 30/30 last year which I took as the standard was really not a good standard at all...

Exactly, if the final is out of 100 (which I think it is), then each one mark is worth 0.7%, so two more questions right in that, and you're (almost) made up for the 27/30 in the terms test.

Haha, thanks for the encouragement guys, much love. I didn't realize how emo i sounded, and sorry, although i was fairly disappointed at first im over it now. Keep moving forward i guess.

I think it's out of 120? 60 MCQ, 60 marks for SAQ?

A lot of people lurking will read "27/30 and calling that shit? get a grip!" Fair enough. On the other hand you might well be disappointed if you had prepared well and didn't get the mark you were expecting.

Not too long to finals now :D

Your memory is getting hazy with your old age skyglow :p

The CHEM191 exam has always been 40MCQ + 60 marks for SAQ (well, at least, it's been that way for the last 4 years) - HUBS is the one that's marked out of 120.

I have been spreading misinformation then :D

is it still possible to get A+'s in cells and chem if you do average in midterms...17.7/20 and 26/30? how easy is it to lose marks.

I'm not thaaat disappointed, more that I really thought I'd finally gotten a perfect terms-test, but didn't. And I'm aware it isn't shit
Edit: Pineapple, as gg has said a few times, terms tests mean practically zip in the grand scheme of things (as long as you're not losing like 5 or 10% in them)
