I am definitely sure. I got a second opinion from a fellow med friend whether calc helped at all and they said no.

I'd rather be branded as a supergeek than a lot of other things.

Thank you! :) (Calculus is now poof)

And secondly I hope I didn't insult you guys just thought it was funny at the time esp from a teacher .

I don't think you have to be drunk to enjoy all the events.

Toga parade? Who's running that?
I see the freshers comp involves "Tool musical chairs" lol! I think Tool would approve.
Orly? Thanks to the culture I think you're going to have a hard time convincing all.
Why, the OUSA of course, like they run all the events!
Schism is a pretty good song.

No offence taken, maiden. I am proud to be a nerd :).

[*offtopic]Offtopic stuff in here [/*offtopic]

But remove the stars.

L3 calculus is totally overkill for HSFY. The only stuff that'll be helpful from math is things like basic log rules for pH and stuff, and that rate of change is dy/dx for the kinetics part for chem.

oh thnxs...so L2 log rules should suffice

I mean you don't even need the really know the log rules, but they use them when they show the derivation of the formulas, and if you can follow the derivation then it really helps. Just need to know like log(ab) = loga + logb, log(a/b) = loga - logb and log(a^b) = bloga and you'd be fine.

Question 4 our mighty seniors...

Did u select your 8th paper before u started or did u make the decision after the 1st semester.....also what did you pick..

:mellow:Sorry if u already told us lol

You make a decision before second semester starts. Just before second semester starts you go to course approval if you want to add an 8th paper. if you don't want to, then you don't need to go to course approval.

Alright kewl...thanx

Around what day do they make the HSFY booklist available? Do u know?
Just want to know about the new Physics book.

Last year they made it available like way before today's date...so I dunno what's happening this year.

one of my friends is doing the jumpstart physics, here's an extract from an email :

We have worked extremely hard to keep the costs down and for a large book, nearly 500 pages, a price of $38.00 is reasonable. As the previous text for this paper (Urone) was $125.00 this is a significant drop. This book, Biological Physics for PHSI 191 will be available from the week of 2 February from the University Print Shop in the Main Library building.

im so glad this text book is REALLY cheap!
hope this helps:D

Any health sci students who have gotten the course approval letter? And also, around when are you all heading down?? I've booked my flight for the 19th.. Maybe I'll see one or two of you?
