LOL. The wierd thing is for the whole of semester one i used to walk past him a lot, and had a gut instict he was doing hsfy and was hard working. The wierd thing was that when i took him to meet my 2 other friends all 3 of them looked at me like i was some kind of stalker.
Wait, the weird part is where someone thinks that's stalkerish? o.O

Would like to borrow your instincts...

It comes with indecisiveness xD.

Btw do you guys have dogs?, yes this is how wierd i really am.

You mean how determined you are to get 50 posts in tonight? Yes I'm being blunt, lol...

[offtopic]
Im just keen on posting today after a long time of lurking thats all.... lol
Which may or may not have anything to do with the fact that we just told you that once you reach 50 posts you can unlock the secret hatbox...[/offtopic]

Play nice, Cathay :p
Edit: 1000th post on this thread! Too bad it's a rubbish post

1) Have you joined the group 'Lurkers'? (click on the ninja in my signature).
2) After lurking for a long time one of the highest priority question you wanted to ask was re: our potential dogs? You sir, should stick around.[/offtopic]

[OFFTOPIC] This makes me proud. But I'm not aiding you in getting 50 posts tonight, I have readings to do.[/OFFTOPIC]

Just so its quite clear, spamming posts to gain access to the chatbox is NOT allowed.

Quoting the MSO rules found at the bottom of the page.
Deliberate post count padding is strictly forbidden. This entails posting irrelevant messages in order to increase post count. Moderators reserve the right to determine what is or is not an irrelevant post. I surprisingly enjoyed our first day back so much. Did anyone else enjoy Epi as much as I did?? Has anyone else out there done IB?? Does it kinda remind you of IB Geography or what?? Also a little of NCEA Stats.

HUBS was straight into it today ae? But it was. just. all. facts. Made me sleepy.... Plus, was it necessary to turn the lights so dim in Castle 1?! Talk about sleep inducing :P

actually im slightly worried about epi, its a bit different, and im not sure exactly sure how to study for it, do we need to memorise detail about graphs and things? also its kindof weird how they aren't putting all the slides for it on blackboard, making it even harder for us..

Having a look at the past exams will give you an idea of what kinds of questions/information we need to look out for.

I really enjoyed the first HEAL lecture as well, finding out the *actual* story behind the numbers is (for me) awesome. Makes me regret not taking stats at school. In terms of "what to study", I think that first lecture was intended to get us interested in the subject rather than drop a whole lot of examinable content.

Yeah I don't really know what to make of the past paper... it looks... like a very BIG paper with lots of places where we can lose little bits of marks that can add up. I mean, :) I'm hoping after a few more lectures we'll get a better idea of how the information is presented to us and so how best to take notes. But right now it seems like an awful lot of broad content. Although I think it's going to be an interesting paper and I understand why we should we learn this stuff... most people in the population will fit into a trend which can be used to explain things and find correlations and causes etc

Oh and you know by "you need to know the structure of the 20 amino acids" does that mean just being to recognise them when we see them printed on a page?? Or is it like "Draw so and so" and you have to be able to produce a structural drawing... :P I suppose there's a difference right?

YEAH  let's see where BIOC takes us! haha

I would say that its important to recognise structures, but more importantly, know if its polar/non-polar/acidic/basic etc (and recognising that these things can often be figured out by looking at/knowing the structure). Knowing that is quite useful in terms of protein folding, interactions between enzymes and their substrates and membrane proteins with the membrane, among other things.

EDIT: structural drawings, no. Its more often a sequence with either the 3-letter or 1-letter name

These introduction epi lectures are getting really boring. I literally have nothing to do today.

It's so frustrating right? There's always the textbook to keep us going for the moment... Although I think we had the same thing at Foundation - or atleast excerts from it.
