Thanks bobby190! Just one more question- I have the sixth edition of hubs textbook, should I buy the seventh edition? And can you buy physics textbook new edition from the university? Thanks
Get the latest physics book and yeah its available at the uni. Hmm I think there is even an 8th edition of Thibodeau and Patton. If HUBS is still using that book then I would not recommend 6th at all. Do not buy anything until you get given the official list or u know for sure. They might start using another book or a 9th edition or something like that.
Later the edition the better really. but 1 edition behind is not going to make much of a difference content wise but getting hte latest book will be handy for reference convenience as the pages will match up exactly to whatever the recommended readings are. Otherwise you will have to hunt around the book a bit.
Yep. The lines will be huge, that's pretty much inescapable. I spent 2 and a half hours of my 18th birthday getting course approval etc. donewell, apparently the lines will be massive in the morning, so I assume that the lines will already be massive before it opens?

Heh, I got there at around 9am and went to the bookshop at 10.30 last year, so I'm guessing that's fairly typical for Friday morning.Took me about an hour and a half. Got there around 8.30 and out of there with my ID card at 10... not too painful at all!
You will need a labcoat in your first lab (probably somewhere in week one) unless your first lab happens to be physics. Don't stress, it'll take <5seconds to buy one from the linkwat the frizz... i should probably check out some of the stuff going on during o-week --- *looks slightly lost and dumbfounded*
Have you guys all brought your labcoats? Or is that something we get told about during the pre-lec on friday? Surely we won't need labcoats on the very first day... right? and even if they do... they will excuse us newbies right? :/ [/freaking-out-for-no-reason-really]

See! You totally can spot them really easily once you're no longer one yourself![/offtopic]the city was crawling with freshers, all looking lost/confused, on my way to the supermarket![]()
[offtopic]They all have this vacant, wide-eyed look, and they're all looking at the tops of buildings, holding maps[offtopic]

[/offtopic]Some people might think you're a bit lame, but you don't need to care what they think. To answer your question - no, you won't get in trouble or anything. Your RA is there to support you, not to make you feel bad (unless you happen to be drunk at the timeHey,
can one of you guys tell me if the RA/college will get all crazy if we don't participate in floor comps etc. coz I cbf....honestly........someone on my wing suggested we all chip in 20 bucks for some lame tv and it's like, i can't even afford to spend in excess, dude. =\
).
that reminds me we had a meeting about the "rules of alcohol" today hahah
