No it's not hard at all. NCEA L2 english is like overkill for that test lol. If you fail it doesn't even matter, because you can just tell them you passed L2 english so you shouldn't have to sit the test. Sorry I don't know about international entry.
So even if we fail, we can just show them that we passed English minimum requirements (AS Eng in my case) and we'll be let off?

Not that I think I'll fail... Merely curious at why they would waste time and effort doing the test. Because don't we have to obtain minimum english requirements to gain entry into uni anyway? And if we can just use that as a get-out-of-fail-free card, what's the point?

Can anyone give me some advise about staying at City College???

And what is the best way to study efficiently! Cos a lot of the time I find that I need to spend more time than others to try to understand the text, concepts and meaning of the text.... I think language and understanding is still a big issue for me... I'm an international student.... So can anyone tell me, what is the English level like in HSFY ??

Thanks kindly folks!

Also that I am an international student.. So I just want to inform you guys that sometimes I might need extra time and a bit of help from you guys/girls to get more understanding of the texts and stuff.....
I don't mind if you guys want to exclude me in the group, cos I don't want to be a burden for anyone of you and don't want to pull your leg either...

As for a venue, go on to the library website to book study rooms. You can book up to 2 hours at a time.

It's just to identify those for which english is not their first language and struggle really hard with it.

You shouldn't have any problems about staying at your hall.

Study is a really individual thing, which is why you hear so many different approaches. I think by now you should have a rough idea of what works pretty well for you, and you can use that and build on it to make it better. The language can sometimes be difficult, but most of the time it is manageable. You shouldn't need to use the textbooks too much, so you won't have to spend ages on them trying to understand the text.

Does anyone of you believe in GOD's existence?? Believe in Christianity??
Thanks

If you want to discuss about that stuff, make a thread somewhere else on the forums :)

koochkooch: I do! I have a pretty solid argument for it as well.
I'm glad to hear.. May I ask are you going to find a church when you go down to Dunedin??
This is a appropriate topic to talk in this forum??

I do to but if you do want to talk about it then start a new thread to talk about it. Just so that it keeps the posts about the original topic
Also I think that those library rooms sound like a good location.

I went to check out the library when I was there. It is impossibily massive with a million study spaces (which looked very inviting). Saw the group study rooms as well, they had whiteboards, some have projectors. Nice environment..

Book the study rooms early, cause they start disappearing once the flood of HSFY ppl come in lol. You guys could pay me for a guest appearance xD Nah I'm not that mean. I can make an appearance if you let me know when you guys are meeting up to answers questions first hand.
