He meant 'wicked!! I have someone to go to pray with!!'

I guess it's a bit hard to chose time now as we haven't gotten our timetables.. (btw.. when does the latest lecture finish?)

Where you form im a sheep? and how long have you been here?

And Arutha and skyglow.. it would be an honour to study in your presence..lol

I would absolutely love to pray with u guys =]

Btw...Arutha and skyglow - pllllllllease join our group when you have nothing better to do so that your ub3r leetness rubs off onto us

My external results certainly aren't that great. Anyway they are:
Calc: NAAM (failed intergration and passed defrentiation with merit)
BIO: NAAA (I failed animal behaviour and responds)
Chem: NAAA( failed Redox)
Phy: NNAA (failed Mechanics and electricity)-i'm just not a physics person
English: NAAA (failed film essay)
Yeah, that me....

While NCEA is not very indicative of university results, you're really going to have to lift your game and work a LOT harder if you're going to have any chance of getting into med. You'll have to keep at the physics too - even if you're rubbish at it, you need to get at LEAST 70% - quite a bit more than NNAA. Sorry for sounding blunt but I'm giving you a realistic opinion.

Woww... I heard that someone who got 89% average with 81st percentile UMAT didn't get med. So in all seriousness, u need to get ur act together. I know its a sobering statement, but it must be said. Well, let's hope we can work together proficiently on this course and make sure we don't let others get ahead of us, because the competition is BRUTAL down there.

On a positive note: Arutha and skyglow will be there to support us :P

Yeah I recon we should work out times when we get down there and get our time tables. But yeah it would be so sweet if Arutha and skyglow1 could give the odd guest appearance if they could spare the time! How do we go about booking those study rooms?

They may be kind enough to support us (no wonder they're doc-to-bes), but it's still up to us to put in the hard yards and go the distance..

About what GPA would a 89% average be? 81% for umat is scraping it a bit I think. From what I've read (all 50ish pages of hsfy otago), you'd want at least 90 to be on the safe side. But even then, you can never be too sure.

koochkooch.. I'm ex-Macleans student. from Taiwan.. my results..
88% - A Chem
84% - A Physics
92% - AS Bio
93% - AS Classics (lol I heard that unis like students to have an English subject, and since my AS Eng was a disaster.. I thought why not..)

Yourself?

Oh and I'm not Christian.. but I'm open and don't really mind. On a side note, Knox, where I'm staying at has it's own chapel .

Where abouts are all you staying?

Thanks very much, I think I will have to need more of these kind of realistic opinions to keep me motivated !!! I will try my best...:D

That's not necessarily true.

That's not necessarily true. I know a person who got into med with only a umat of about 68th percentile. It's not a matter of your percentile per se but more the individual section marks. Said person got a section 2 mark of above 90 so it was really good for them that Otago does the 45/45/10 weighting.

I'll also drag my ultra-smart friend along who is majoring in physics. He's so awesome at physics *envy* and is really good at explaining concepts.

That will be so so so awesome. Looks like our team is getting stronger !!

So are all of you that are in med down there already? Do you start same time as us? or earlier..

:eek: That's almost as low as what I got last year!! (yes.. I'm a repeat) The 45/45/10 ratio doesn't do me any good though. I got mugged and beaten up in S1, slightly trampled on in S2, and landed a few punches in S3.. Maybe this year it'll all turn around

PLEASE do. Far out, getting in with a 68th percentile sounds impossible. I bet they had an average of like 99% right? Btw Arutha, I remember u had an INSANE score for UMAT (98th percentile was it?)... How did you go about preparing for it and how did u juggle HSFY with UMAT study? How many hours did u do of each every day?

1. 89% would be an A average...we should be looking at getting an A+ (90%+) average if we want to secure a place in med.
2 I'm an ex-Westlake student from Iraq...yes, Iraq... but don't be fooled by my nationality, I won't blow you up!
3. My results were:
A Level Chem: 90%
A Level Bio: 82%
A Level Maths: 78%
A Level English: 77%

4. Awesome...Knox isn't too far away from Aquinas (where I'm staying). I'll be partying hard (not really) with skyglow :p
