No, you're ******* it up for the people who are actually streamed into St David's. People keep getting turned away for CELS.

I would often jump streams but I would never jump into a stream that would likely overflow... as with what brin said it's incredibly unfair to those actually streamed into that lecture theatre/time.

As I lived so close to St David's I would get at the theatre pretty much as it started and was royally pissed off if it was full and had to come back later.

dl;tr Don't be a dick and push others out of their proper stream; but if there's room I say go for it :D.

Yeah, no worries if there's space, just for CELS in particular (perhaps only in my stream) St Davids has been full and groups of people had to go elsewhere. No one got up and left.

When people left full lectures last year, they were literally clapped/cheered. I always found that really amusing.

I found it hard to decide whether they were actual legit GC's or just guilty-feeling stream jumpers.

I actually think the Uni needs to toughen up on lectures and stream jumping, but I suppose that's easy to say now that it doesn't really effect me anymore. I also believe in recording lecture attendance, which for one would've made me go to all my lectures.

Lol, can't say that I haven't stream jumped to St.Davids- just because it means I don't have to move for any of my lectures. >.<

You would think people would have learnt by now if you show up 10 mins late then you won't get a St Davids seat..

Goodluck doing that for 800 people in the space of a few minutes, heh.

Hey guys- oh crap, somebody has stolen my textbook for hubs.... (left it in the study centre, and its gone) Can somebody please tell me how to get the online version of it? Thanks

Erm, could've been a mistake or a prank...? But if your textbook is genuinely gone for good, you might be disappointed to hear that P&T doesn't, as far as I'm aware, have an official e-text. Any other sources of a digital copy of P&T would not be legitimate and so should not be discussed in the forums.

EDIT: Ummm, I know this is inconvenient but perhaps you could try and avoid leaving personal property in a public area in the future?

Damn....readings are examinable on the HUBS terms test...does anyone know generally how much MCQ are from readings in past years tests?
Hmm... lets see... approximately... Zero.
I only did the first two readings in HUBS191 and got 100% in the first terms test.
Just know the stuff in your lecture slides reeeeally well and you'll ace it.
If there is a readings question, it will be, like, 1 question.

It seems to be between zero and two?

Pretty sure the only 'readings' questions I saw in HUBS were in the final, not the terms tests. That isn't to say there couldn't be one in the terms test, just that it's pretty unlikely to be worth spending hours and hours studying up on for that 0.28% of your final grade

Quick Q. Are the slides that are available on BB for all the papers accurate enough to just learn from? Cause I have this feeling that what I am learning aint enough because it seems "too easy".

"Accurate" enough, probably, "detailed" enough, sometimes not. Some lecturers like to put pictures in their slides and talk about them. Perhaps they have notes on paper they're talking from. But either way, some lecturers don't put all their content on the slides.

HSFY is in no way about learning. It's about filling your brain with as much as you can. The stuff on the slides is easy- but there is A LOT of content to remember. It's very much a case of quantity over quality.

So its a good enough way to get a general feel, but not good enough to use as a sole means of studying is that what you are saying? Which of the handouts would have the best detail you reckon?

Your notes? That's what I study from- I tend to write down most of what the lecture says (including the bullet points from the slides) then revise with them.

Lol I actually find that when I learn I remember it much better than when I just try to remember facts. It helps me stick the info much better and have it stick for much longer too!

I like to do worksheets/old exams/term tests. Good test of knowledge, finds your weaknesses so you can study up on that. No idea if it's a good strategy.. I hope so xD
